A month flew by so quick that Lily didn't even realize a month had passed.
Throughout that month, she had continued to collect mass using her Hive units in the forest, along with having her worms create the perfect nest within the underground of New York for when she was ready to make more units.
She even gained new abilities from eating animals in the forest through her hive units.
Fish Physiology.
Bird Physiology.
Both were new abilities she had gained and had been created after eating various birds and fishes in the forest through her Hive.
Fish Physiology, as the name would imply, gave her the capabilities of a fish. Water Breathing, Cold Resistance to an extent, Enhanced lungs, and Enhanced Senses even in water.
As for Bird Physiology, it was an ability she had gained after a lot of effort since capturing birds was hard without flight.
But, it gave her a lot of benefits, Enhanced Agility, Enhanced Senses, Enhanced Balance, Enhanced Reflexes, Enhanced Stamina, Enhanced Lungs, and Digitigrade Legs, and she also gained Atmospheric Adaptation to an extent, albeit very minor.
She also could now grow wings, wings similar to that of a bird that she could use to fly around. But she hadn't done so, as it would be very noticeable.
The most exciting part about this ability was the fact that she could now create bird-like units, which she would be sure to put to use in the future.
Some of her other abilities also fused together and created new skills since she ate more of their species.
Namely;
Canin Physiology.
Feline Physiology.
Which were self-explanatory, so she didn't bother with them too much.
Aside from the gains from her Hive, she also made a lot of progress under training with S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Agents that were tasked with training her did a great job. From them, she was able to learn many things, not just basic knowledge but knowledge that only government personnel would be able to know easily.
One thing to note, however, was that she only met Phil a little throughout the month as he had other work to do. Still, they also got somewhat closer as he brought her gifts whenever he visited.
For her basic schooling, she did very well. They originally began teaching her from Grade 6 education, stuff a Middle Schooler would learn, but they quickly realized that she was much smarter than she looked.
It didn't even take a week before they finished the entire Middle School curriculum and moved on to High School.
The High School curriculum was somewhat harder, but thanks to her enhanced mental capabilities and learning speed, she was able to finish the entire thing in a little under two weeks, and they had already begun teaching her college-level information.
Aside from basic schooling, they also taught her S.H.I.E.L.D. related information, such as about Mutants, Super Soldiers, Inhumans, Foreign Languages, Weapons, and other information she would need to know in order to be a proper Agent.
As for her physical training, she learned a mixture of different types of fighting styles, from M.M.A. to Krav Maga, Systema, Kenpō, and even Judo, because it would suit her size and strength.
They were challenging to learn for someone that had no form of professional training in them, but thanks to her body being able to keep up with the training and her mind being able to pick up on details quickly.
She was able to learn the basics of them in the month.
Calling her a master would be impossible; she couldn't even take down her own teachers in them without using her brute strength, but that was enough since she had the brute force to complement them.
Naturally, she planned to learn more, but training had to stop for the time being because someone wanted to meet her.
Someone important.
An Agent led her up the elevator as soon as she had arrived for the day, and they went up to the fifth floor of the building this time.
Upon reaching a door on the fifth floor, the Agent knocked, not entering until the door was unlocked from the inside and they were permitted to enter.
The second Lily entered the room, her eye fell on the head of the man before her, a clean bald head without a single hair on it.
Right away, she knew who it was.
'Nick Fury.'
She couldn't help but gaze at him up and down, his looks almost identical to how he was in the movies.
Dark-skinned with a bald head. One eye that was covered in an eye patch due to a certain cat and a short beard that worked perfectly for his hardened looks.
The only difference would be the fact that he looked slightly younger than he was in Avengers, but that was due to the fact that it was earlier in the timeline.
'So he's the important person.'
She thought as she looked at him, confused.
She honestly didn't expect to meet any of the Canon characters just yet, especially not someone like Nick Fury, who was very paranoid about who he met and what he did.
But it seemed something was up.
"Greetings Agent, and Recruit."
He gave the Agent a nod, who left the room and closed the door behind him, leaving just Lily and Fury in the room.
"Agent Coulson has told me much about you. My name is Nick Fury, and I am here to assign to you your first mission."
It seemed he was trying his best not to be as brash as he normally is because of her age.
Which she found quite odd since she wasn't used to this way of Fury's speech.
"But I'm still a recruit, Sir."
Lily replied, unsure why exactly they were already planning to rush her onto the field when it hadn't even been a month since her training started.
"Do not worry; after careful consideration, I decided that you would be best suited for this mission due to your capabilities. Do not worry; I, along with other Agents, will be joining you for it."
Fury explained as he looked at her.
"Understood, Sir."
She had been trained on how Agents should act and treat their superiors, so she accepted the mission without further doubt. It was, after all, an order.
Plus, this went along with what she wanted, so she had no reason to deny it.
"Good; follow me to the briefing room; we will begin immediately."
A month time skip, and her first Shield mission. The story should pick up more here, with more action scenes and encounters.
Fury led the girl from the room she had greeted him into a briefing room, yet another room that was on the same floor.
Upon entering the room, the first thing she did was glance around it, scanning for possible threats or things that could be used if something happened.
This was not only her instincts at play but also the training she received from the Agents amplifying it, making her more refined in the way she worked; her movements were purposeful.
The room was largely metallic looking in nature, with screens decorating most of the walls, computers with people working on them on the lower levels, and the main level containing a large table that was used to brief Agents.
With multiple screens on and in front of it to explain the missions.
As she glanced over at the table, her eyes fell on the two people already sitting there, one male and one female.
The male had blond hair, hazel eyes, and a rather muscular build, but he didn't look like anything special. He even had the buzz cut.
The female also had blond hair, but unlike the man, she had blue eyes, a slim build, and rather average curves. She wasn't very outstanding, but she could be called pretty.
As Lily and Fury approached the table, he spoke.
"Agent Peterson and Agent Johnson, this is Agent Lily. You three will be the main operatives for this mission."
Lily greeted them with a slight nod, taking notes of their names for the time being.
The male was called Peterson, while the female was Johnson.
They both greeted her, but she could see they were surprised by her youthful look. However, they didn't say anything about it as they were properly trained Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
After everyone took a seat, Fury pulled up a screen, showing a person that Lily was very familiar with. How could she not be, he was a major player within the MCU.
Bruce Banner.
He looked much younger than he did in Avengers, but that was once again because of the timeline.
His looks were almost identical to his actor's appearance, with minor differences.
He had short black hair, dark brown eyes, and a face that was slightly leaner than how it was in the films. He also had his glasses on in the picture.
"Doctor Robert Bruce Banner."
Fury said as he introduced the man they were all looking at, causing Lily to shift her attention toward paying attention to him.
"Former Professor at Culver University and a researcher that worked on a secret government project that ended in failure. Or so we assumed."
He clicked a button and shifted the screens around them to show images and reports about Bruce all around the stats, with some even having images of him in his Hulk form, but they were far too blurry.
"Reports have it that he succeeded in the project and has been used on himself; however, due to the fact that he is on the run, we have no way of confirming it."
'I see, so this mission is the one where they went looking for Bruce Banner.'
She had vague information about the first time S.H.I.E.L.D. actually went looking for Bruce, but she didn't know much about it since she had never read those comics, and it wasn't mentioned in the movies.
She didn't know when it happened, so she was pleased that it happened when she was an Agent.
"We have recently pinpointed the location he has been staying at for the last few days, our mission today is to investigate him and deem if he is a threat or someone to bring in."
After he finished explaining the mission in more detail, giving each of them their assignment and temporary fake identities, he ordered them to move out so they could make it as quickly as possible.
While on an aircraft to the location, Lily thought over the plan.
The male and female Agents would act as a couple on vacation, and she would pretend to be their kid.
They would stay in the area while Fury, who would also be undercover, would approach Bruce and try to feel him out by speaking to him.
They would get involved if he deemed anything out of place or necessary.
It was a simple plan, but it was the best they could come up with their limited information. They literally had no information about what happened after the project suddenly failed, so they had no information about his capabilities.
They made the best out of what they had.
Eventually, they arrived at the location, landing the aircraft outside the range of the city to avoid being spotted, and used a car to drive to the location he was last seen.
It was around Noon by now, and from the Agents that were tasked to monitor him from a distance, he was currently in a bar.
They arrived at the front of the building, a run-down place that was made out of stone and wood. It wasn't very fancy or even well built, which was to be expected from a small bar in a small place outside the major cities.
'Kirby's.'
Was the name on the board of the bar either because it was owned by Kirby or because the name of the place was Kirby's. But they didn't pay much attention to that; instead, they began their act.
Walking in first, Lily and the two other Agents played the part of a family arriving for the start of their vacation. As for Fury, he would enter a while after, so it didn't seem like they were together.
