Chapter 21: Chapter 21 - Tons Of New Skills

After digesting everything she had eaten, and allowing her body to adjust and evolve along with it— she decided to check just what she had gained from it.

She could instinctively tell some of the things she had gained already— after all the status panel was merely an extension of her own subconscious— but she decided to use the easier means of checking it.

The very same status panel her mind had made up.

(In the future chapters I will be shortening these down to just Physiologies so they don't take up so much room and need less explaining. As for how strong they are, and weaknesses, I didn't set any hard limits because I like to scale things as the story goes. Hope you understand.)

Looking over her stats she could see just how much she had gained from eating all those things— however, she also didn't gain a lot of things either.

Most of the insects didn't give her any skills due to the lack of DNA— the same could be said for the plants. This was most likely due to how little information just one part of them had, meaning she would need to eat a lot before she could gain their skills.

But that was fine— she had already gained quite a lot and with what she had now she didn't feel the need to worry. She was sure she could deal with weaker mutants at this level— and maybe even some stronger ones if she played her cards right.

She also noticed that gaining certain skills and DNA could help improve her stats, so that was something to look out for in the future.

For now, she had to return to the hospital before they started looking for her— so she got up and left after cleaning her clothing up a bit.

Good thing she wasn't stupid enough to eat it with on, otherwise, blood would've covered it. She took it off and put it aside— eating naked— then just got dressed after cleaning her skin of the filth.

Now, she had arrived back in the hospital room after sneaking back in. Her abilities made it much easier now than they did before, being able to partially blend parts of her body into the walls to hide from view.

Thankfully she got back in time because shortly after returning she was visited by the two FBI Agents that had news to tell her— they were moving her.

She didn't really have much choice in the matter but they made it seem like it was for her own good, telling her they could keep her safe like this and such, which was an obvious excuse to just get her under their watch.

They even provided her with a fake identity of her own— mind you did they this very quickly so even she was quite surprised by their actions.

She had a new name, Lily Garcia— they allowed her to keep the nickname Lily since it was a very common name, and tracing it would be very hard.

But they also gave her a backstory.

She was 15 years old and was currently moving in with her aunt and uncle since her parents had died in a car crash recently. She was homeschooled since young and because of this she didn't have many friends or went out often.

It was a very simple— but good— backstory since it explained why she suddenly moved to New York and even why she would act as strangely as she would.

And while she put up a front of being unsure and somewhat resistant to it— in reality, she couldn't be happier.

She had a fake identity and she didn't even have to do anything to get it, how easy could this be?

Nonetheless, they gave her a day more to rest before taking her away to her new life.

Chapter 22: Chapter 22 - New Home

The FBI Agents, Miguel, and Frea came and collected the girl shortly after she had arrived— explaining the situation to her and telling her that they would be moving her to a location closer to their HQ in New York— Manhattan to be more exact.

While this would put her under a closer watch— as they would be monitoring her more often— she didn't mind because by moving to Manhatten she would be placed right in the middle of the Marvel storyline.

And why wouldn't she get involved?

She wasn't some fool that cared about protecting the timeline or keeping it intact or anything of the sort. She had no reason to anyways— this world was already a mess so it wasn't like she had a clear idea of the future, to begin with.

No— being involved in the main events would net her more chances to get to the things she wants.

More chances to grow stronger.

In order to get to New York they had to take a plane, as driving would take far too long and the Agents were on a deadline to get the girl.

Getting a plane wasn't hard— even without the proper documentation on them, they could easily deal with such small issues, so before the day had even ended they were on a plane to New York.

Unfortunately, because they decided to travel via plane the girl wasn't able to bring any of her Hive Units with her and thus had to leave them behind in the forest.

But because she had such a large amount of mass after eating all she had eaten she didn't mind this issue— plus she wasn't sure if Shield, or even just the FBI, would have means to locate her units if they came with her.

She had to be extra careful to not be exposed since she didn't know all the things this world had in it— it was clearly not just the MCU as it had mutants.

Leaving them behind also wasn't an issue since she could sense them no matter how far away they were with her current mental strength— that is as long as they were on this planet.

With her current mental strength, she could tell that if her units or herself went beyond the limits of a planet they would lose connection— leaving her units to go feral and turn aggressive until she returned.

She ordered the remaining ones to stay in the forest and focus on making a deep underground nest— as it would be a good location to set up a base of operations on this planet if anything happened.

Afterward, she decided to get some rest— or at least pretend to so she wouldn't have to linger in awkward silence since the two agents that accomplished her on the flight didn't know the concept of small talk it seemed.

And like that— almost 7 hours had gone by before they landed again.

Their stop— Manhattan.

Manhattan was a big place, and it was very busy with people constantly moving in and out of it. As they took a car to their location she couldn't help but marvel at the sights outside of her window.

The place was so similar to her world, yet so different— the changes were ever so slight but noticeable.

The drive wasn't long, and eventually, they reached Lower Manhattan— more specifically a small house within a gated community that had been prepared just for her stay.

They didn't go to the FBI HQ— there wasn't a need to— they were just here to relocate the girl to a safe house and new identity before slowly learning about her and figuring out her mutant ability.

As they assumed she was a mutant.

At the house, she met with the people that were supposed to be playing her aunt and uncle— two undercover agents that were trained to play such roles and thus knew how to get into character easily.

"You must be Lily, how lovely to meet you."

Said the female of the two with a smile as she walked over and gave the girl a hug— Lily almost instinctively killed her but held herself back before she could.

"Lily, these are Roxy and Stephan Garcia they will be your foster parents for the time being and into the foreseeable future. Don't worry, they will keep you protected."

Explained Miguel as he spoke to the girl, patting her back in a motion to walk into the large two-story house— it was after all a gated community and such houses were quite nice.

Paying no mind to the constant— and annoying— touching she walked into the house and looked around with a curious gaze on her face.

'So this is where I will be spending a lot of my time for now.'

She thought to herself as she didn't find the place bad— at least it looked better than underground.

"Why don't you go upstairs and check out your room, we have some things prepared but we can get it decorated with things if you would like."

Spoke Roxy with a smile as she sent the girl upstairs— wishing to speak to the other agents alone for some time.

The girl had no reason to refuse, as she could still hear them upstairs, so she did as she asked and left the first floor.
