Chapter 44: Chapter 42

Siena stood by the door as Mr. Crea turned to address the class again.

He cleared his throat, looking like he was gathering his thoughts, before he spoke. “Thank you for your patience. Looks like we’re one of the first classes to be escorted to the cafeteria. Siena and the security will guide you from here. Please read pages 173 to 180 with notes on what happens within the werewolf colonies during the Middle Ages. Ophelia, please stay for a moment.”

The room stayed quiet as the sullen and scared students gathered their things and followed Siena from the room. Ryuu stayed seated, staring blankly at the desk in front of him as the feeling of unease turned to a burning coal of fear, sitting heavily on his heart. Whoever was or had been on campus had been here for one reason.

Once emptied, the room felt annoyingly big. As Ryuu slowly looked up to meet his teacher’s gaze, anger started to mix with his fear.
