Chapter 67: Roses - (Makai's Point of View)

"Rowan is a voyeur?" I ask Storm, intrigued by the conversation they just had.

"I suspect that they both are. Adam pretends he goes along to keep Rowan company but I've seen how excited he gets in those clubs when he thinks nobody is watching."

I raise my brows. "You've seen?"

He clears his throat and gives me a guileless smile. "I've accompanied them once or twice. Just as their Designated Driver, of course."

"Of course," I respond drily. My mate has had very interesting experiences.

We spend the rest of the afternoon eating and talking.

"I haven't thanked you properly for everything. Everything yesterday was so unexpected and amazing," Storm says as he takes the last bite of his steak.

I push his glass of water closer to him and take his plate to the sink. "You don't need to thank me. I'm just trying to be a better mate than I have been so far.

Sipping his water, he leaves the dining area to sit on the kitchen island stool.
