A strange silence swept the place, despite the fact that there were countless people here. The guards had lost their enthusiasm to keep people back after hearing what I said, but along with that, there was no longer anybody fighting to get closer.
To put it simply, it was as though a stalemate had happened in chess.
Quite a few people in the crowd had miserable expressions on their faces, as I had expected. What I said ended up striking a chord with quite a few people, making them quite miserable.
It was to be expected. Being a parent over time will cause them to devalue the opinions of their child as they were the ones to teach them everything. However, what most don't realize is that while this devaluing of opinion might be valid at first, once they start to form their own ideas and opinions, it is no longer truly applicable.
Often, it's hard for parents to identify their child as a separate human being that can actually think for itself.
