Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Incantation

Benja found the mystery of the Quiet Worlds disturbing. Why had he never heard of them? Why was the Crown keeping it secret? Was there more to the story? And what did any of it have to do with Etzli?

At the center of the Chancel hall, Pampaa stared up at the Judges seated around the Tall Table. He asked the most obvious question: "Have you done anything to establish contact with these 'Quiet Worlds?'"

The eldest Judge said, "The Royal Navy has a number of outposts in the area, but they've gone dark as well. Seven ships and 10,000 sailors are now officially missing."

“Ten thousand!” someone cried.

Worried mutterings echoed through the hall.

The Prelate quickly added, "We have a temple on Tethys, which sits at the edge of the Quiet Worlds. We're still in contact with them. At our behest, the planetary governor sent out several local ships to investigate, though... none have returned."
