Chapter 20: The meeting.
Remi came after Arthur, that brought her toward the private elevator underground. She has observed the building since they arrived, and she will keep the blueprint of this building and frame it in her bedroom once she moves to her new house. The playfulness and the number of jokes she spoke to Arthur made them comfortable enough with each other. He has the most respect for her since she did not even ask about Roman Knights, unlike anyone that wants to curry favor with him. These have made him hope she gets the job.
Even Selene failed to keep it professional once Roman was around; she got distracted fixing her clothes or even her makeup.
Instead of the last name, in just 30mins, they get to get acquainted and call each other by their first name like a long-lost friend. Remi has a way with people; she is always good at making anyone feel safe and comfortable with her.
Remi waited in the conference room while Arthur left to inform Roman and Selene that Clarissa Henson was waiting for them in Meeting room 1.
The interior is dull, sleek Black, and white. However, it fits the modern concept the building stands for. Her eyes caught the painting on the wall that looked simple, the woman and child inside a canoe in the paddy field. It is entirely off on the design and decor in the room; however, that is "Nayon," a painting by Thelma Ruiz in 1989. She dedicates the picture to her mom, who lived in the paddy field before she went to a boarding school, and her mom died when the great flood swept the entire village.
Standing facing the painting, she heard the door was opened, and she turned to see Arthur walking in with a woman who looked like she was dressed for a club and work and followed by a Greek God.

Danggggggggggggggggggg! That man is a perfect specimen.
Remi's face does not betray her even slightly with a lude thought she just had after seeing Roman.
He keeps his eyes on her unmoved.
Selene felt a little intimidated seeing a a stunning woman wearing just a casual shirt and jeans; however, she had already outshined everyone in the building.
"Have a seat, Clarissa" Arthur gestured for her to sit, followed by her charming smile.
"Thank you, Arthur."
Roman eyebrow raised, seeing the two on a first-name basis.
Seeing Clarissa personally, Roman recalled Leo's remarks about her being potentially abused by the Henson. However, the woman in front of him is far from meek and shows nothing but professionalism and confidence.
"As you know, Cla...Ms.Henson, this is only a little test we needed to ensure that you are well-versed in a precious stone. My co-worker has a few cases of gems, diamonds, and a few stones that she wanted you to take a look at."
Roman, crossing her arm, remained silent and let Arthur deal with the talking.
Putting the cases on the table, Selene opened all five cases, it was filled with many stones ranging in size, shape, and clarity, all of which were valuable. The door once again opened, revealing Cody Hale, that walked straight to take a seat beside Roman; that also was a little stunt seeing how gorgeous Clarissa was in real. The picture does not do her any justice.
"There is only one fake precious stone here, Ms.Henson, and please show it to us," Selene spoke, thinking she had Remi fail.
"Thank you, mam" Remi knew the hostility serene gave her from miles away. Jealousy is like a stench; it is stuck in whoever harbors it.
Looking at each of the stones, Remi saw they had prepared her a small magnifying glass to inspect the inside of the gems. She started with the first case; it contained all sorts of raw stones, rubies, and somewhere Sapphire; she then checked their shoes and clarity, each one by one, and separated them. Her gesture seems spontaneous. The group of each gem she separates consists of every kind of stone. Selene chuckled inwardly, feeling confident she would get the job and be able to work alongside Roman every day.
While Selene stood imagining her and Roman together, 30 minutes had passed, and hundreds of raw stones were grouped by her.
Arthur looked a little worried; he wanted her to get a job but seeing how it is now, maybe he has put his hopes too high on her.
"All of the stones are a real deal" simple yet conclusive.
Selena looked calm but was caught off guard by Remi's answers. She is the only one who knows about it since she asked the dealer to give her the answer since she has a problem recognizing them all.
"There is one fake item in here, and that is the bracelet that the older sister wears on her wrist" everyone turned to see the older sister she had mentioned was none other than Selene.
Selene's face turned red from anger and embarrassment. She knew her bracelet was fake since she had had little money problems lately and could not afford natural diamonds.
Cody and Arthur can't help to blurt out a small chuckle seeing Remi so innocently pointing out Selene and indirectly starting a war. Everyone knows serene treasured her reputation in front of Roman, and to be humiliated by someone in front of him resulted in a big no-no.
Roman was not amused seeing his friend and assistant acting like a child. He kept his gaze locked on Remi's beautiful face and looked at the stones she had grouped into ten groups.
"What is the meaning of the stones being grouped as this" Roman asked.
"the first group are raw stones signed in the same mines, as you can see from how they oxidize, showing the same amount of clarity and pressure, I'm guessing Monroe." She then continued explaining each group belonged to a different mine, and Selene couldn't help but take out the paper report given to her by the jeweler she got all the stones from.
Selene knew she had lost even before she started; she hated to admit that the young lady in front of her was correct. Roman received the paper while Remi was still explaining and nodded, agreeing with her explanations. She is right.
"All done?" she asked.
"Arthur, give me a call if all of you have reached a decision. I have to leave now. "She knew she got the job. However, she worried about Cocoa butter alone in her room. Ilya promised to watch him, but she wanted to ensure he was okay.
