Chapter 173: Night Two

The emperors arrived fashionably late just as they did the night before while the party was in full swing. 

They walked with Varya's hand on Ebari's arm as he guided her to their table, playing the role of husband particularly well. There wasn't a person in the main hall that didn't feel a tinge of jealousy over the couple at the top of the universe. 

Looking particularly picturesque in matching black clothing, their image of a unified force was not questioned for another night. 

Basileus couldn't keep his eyes off of Varya as she moved towards their seats. Throughout his life, he could appreciate a woman's beauty when he saw it but there was something about Varya that hit him like a drug. He smirked slightly knowing that she was his even if it didn't seem that way to the general public. 

Realizing his eyes were lingering for far too long, he turned his head away and saw Galen sending the same look in that direction but perhaps a little to the left.
