Chapter 4: Chapter - 4

[Trade Area - Glory City]

After leaving the classroom of warrior apprentices behind, Li Ming immediately headed to the best place to train the fields, and also needed to stabilize his cultivation after rising to the 5th rank of bronze.

But the main reason for his choice was to understand the true power of his first Totem Aspect; after all, a warrior's Totem is usually determined once he appears, but the appearance of his Totem Aspect, would be different from the demonic beasts that were used for it. It could have a variety of bizarre changes. From its embryonic form to its training state and finally to its full form, it could undergo mutations and evolve. It was not known what it would be like when a Totem Aspect mutated.

There were no restrictions on the elemental properties of the primordial strain of ten thousand that was to be killed. Since elemental laws come in all kinds of forms, the Aspect Totem that was being mastered had no specific form. Its power and laws varied from person to person and had endless possibilities.

Truly a miraculous and mysterious art with many secrets to discover! Li Ming had to admit that he was fascinated by this particular cultivation technique of which the reason for his choice.

"Time to hunt." thought Li Ming, with some excitement visible on his face.

[Interlude]

[Training Ground]

"What took you so long?" asked the blue-haired boy of the as he walked beside the brown-haired boy and Nie Li. He was dressed in cheap armor and carried a pair of crossbows in his hand, quite comically and ridiculously at least for Li Ming.

Li Ming had met them just as he entered the lane toward the training grounds. But he kept his distance and walked silently a little further behind them. He was curious to see why they were heading toward the training grounds.

From what he knew, none of them were close to being a one-star bronze rank, meaning they had no chance against even a horned sheep.

"Sorry brother," Ni Lie apologized, "I know of a paralytic poison that would have helped us rake in the horned sheep, but for some reason there was almost no Zoysia grass to be found anywhere, I ended up having to look harder than expected."

Of course, they wouldn't have found it so easily; it would take a few weeks for most full areas to grow some Zoysia again. After all, Zoysia Grass was an important part of Li Mig's plans; he had spent more than a year collecting it from known to grow and storing it in his space ring.

"Very surprising." Li Ming squinted his eyes at Nie Li's back as he followed them toward the gate.

It could not be ruled out that Nie Li and his family had come across the concoction on their own, but if they had Heaven's Mark Family would have been much richer than it was now.

The only reason he had discovered it was because of his cultivation technique, and even then he doubted that Nie Li cultivated his own technique. Could Nie Li have spied on him and caught him making paralytic poison in the last few days?

"No," whispered Li Ming, such a thing was impossible! What a joke he certainly was not of such a stupid and uncaring person who showed his secrets people completely unrelated to him.

So there remained only one option, Nie Li had a situation very similar to his o at least he did not think it was so far from the truth.

The three boys in front of him reached the massive stone gates that kept the demonic beasts contained and opened it. Li Ming retreated back a little and stayed out of sight, allowing them to disappear inside.

"It looks like I will have to carry out my plans." Li Ming, looked at himself in amazement, crossing his arms. Nie Li was becoming much more interesting than expected.

"You better not let me down, Nie Li," Li Ming thought with obvious good humor, finally finding someone who could give him a hard time.

Li Ming could not be blamed for these words, because since he had been living in Glory City, there was no one of his generation at the same level as him who could challenge him.

And this was a big problem for him, in the future he would have no notable rivals who could fight well, his only luck was that he still had time before he reached a level of cultivation dificcult to overcome.

Li Ming cast one last glance at the trio before heading toward the open plains.

Horned sheep were very territorial, so they lived alone outside of children and companions. Compared to them, the tusked pandas were very sociable and gathered in huge groups.

Li Ming jumped up the trees and traveled at a grade speed. A few minutes later, he landed on the large branch of a towering tree overlooking the open plains and the rock formation to the south where the Fanged Pandas lived.

"Looks like it's my lucky day." Li Ming smiled as he looked at the many, many dozens of tusked pandas grazing on the grass.

They were very large, almost three meters tall, with a thick and powerful build. It was almost unbelievable to realize that as big as they were, they were physically stronger than the huge hairy beasts.

They were very cute. As a veterinarian, in his past life Li Ming had "almost" regretted having to slaughter such adorable-looking creatures. But after all, he knew that by their very nature they despised humans as much as any other demonic beast and would attack any human on sight.

Perhaps in the future he could do something about it....

Li Ming observed the pile of demonic beasts for a few minutes, noting that there were no isolated demonic beasts and that they were all clustered in small groups of three or more.

"A very clever move on their part," Li Ming thought; they were the favorite meal of the silver tiger species, so they would group together to make life more difficult for their predators who hunted them.

All but one of the pandas were grouped together. One tusked panda, much larger than the others, sat atop a massive rocky outcropping that jutted out at the top of the rock formation where they all lived together.

"Demonic spirit!" thought Li Ming with obvious surprise in his eyes.

To think that he would find a second one on the same day he found one from the Horned Sheep! What luck! Perhaps being able to form another Death Mark of the Beast before reaching the gold rank would not have been a pipe dream.

"It might be a little difficult, though," Li Ming sighed, looking away from it. If he attacked it, no doubt everyone else would rush to his aid. And as far as he could count, there were three hundred or more in all, including the one of spiritual rank.

"It looks like I will also be cultivating my physique today, and I who wanted to wait for at least the silver rank, after all I had finally chosen a technique that was perfect for me," Li Ming joked, licking his lips as he felt his Aspect Totem begin to burn from the battle that was about to happen.
