I Will Eventually Embark on the Path of No Return Called a Hero [Arc2] - 11. No One Understands What Frankenstein Means

"Long time no see!"

Seeing Siegfried appear before him, Achilles raised the corners of his mouth.

"This time, no one will interfere with our fight!"

Siegfried's expression was extremely serious. After Achilles had boasted about himself the last time, the Black team had a discussion, and the conclusion was that no one except Chiron could handle him.

Yes, Achilles' weakness was obvious—just hit his heel. However, as Greece's fastest hero, it was not easy to land a hit. Even Chiron admitted he was not confident in hitting Achilles' heel.

They could only drag it out!

Siegfried exhaled, gripping his sword with both hands and standing still, quietly watching Achilles.

"Not going to attack?" Achilles grinned. "Then I'll come!"

"Boom---"

The earth shattered beneath Achilles' feet, and with a series of white sonic booms, he swept toward Siegfried like a gale.

"Whoosh----"

An arrow shot out from the trees and struck Achilles' shoulder. The pain and the splattering blood made Achilles instinctively slow his pace. Siegfried seized the opportunity to step forward and swung his sword toward Achilles' neck.

"Tch! An Archer from the Black side!" Achilles clicked his tongue, deflecting Siegfried's sword with his long spear while tilting his head to dodge the arrow.

More arrows flew out from the forest, targeting Achilles.

"Damn it!" Relying on his fearlessness against Siegfried's attacks, Achilles took the hit from Siegfried's sword and smashed a fist into Siegfried's face, while his spear swatted the arrows out of the air.

"Didn't expect there would be a Servant who could actually harm me, interesting," Achilles said as he pulled out the arrow from his shoulder and broke it in half. "But it won't change the outcome!"

Siegfried wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. His worst fear had come true—Achilles was no longer planning to defend against his attacks, while Siegfried had to remain on guard against Achilles' attacks. If not for Chiron's intimidation, Achilles would likely have unleashed his full strength against him.

"Boom----"

"Hm? That direction…" Achilles turned his head toward the source of the noise. "Sister?"

"I'm fine," Atalanta casually tossed a stone that hit Achilles on the head.

"Sister, aren't you going to keep an eye on Berserker?" Achilles scratched the back of his head.

"Berserker is done for, we need to retreat," Atalanta drew her bow and shot down the arrows aimed at Achilles.

"Eh~ I'm about to finish the fight," Achilles glanced reluctantly at Siegfried, who was watching him warily.

"Right now, Cyd is mistaken as a Red Servant by the Black side, but this misunderstanding will be resolved soon. He won't help us fend off the Black Servants. If you want to be surrounded by all the Black Servants, just stay here," Atalanta retreated to the treetops.

"Wait for me, sister!"

Have they left?

Siegfried sighed in relief.

Fighting someone with invulnerability was indeed troublesome. He felt sympathy for those who had fought him before.

[Saber, go assist Lancer! There's still a Red Servant who hasn't left!]

Gordes's anxious voice echoed in Siegfried's mind.

"That direction?" Siegfried looked toward the direction of the explosions, which was where Achilles had been looking before leaving. He seemed to faintly hear the Red Archer mention a name.

"Hey! You guys, wait a moment!"

Cyd crushed a wooden stake that had risen from the ground with a stomp and grabbed Vlad III's spear tip with his right hand.

"Hmm---" Frankenstein shook Astolfo vigorously.

"Ah~ I know, I can't beat him, so I won't hold Lancer back," Astolfo flashed a bright smile, then as if remembering something, he patted Frankenstein's shoulder and said, "Well, I'm off now."

With that, Astolfo phased out and ran away.

"Wuwuwu!" Frankenstein roared at Vlad III, waving her hands desperately.

"I know, Berserker, don't worry about the rest," Vlad III said while wielding his long spear and controlling iron stakes to attack Cyd. His frenzied attacks left no chance for Cyd to catch his breath.

"Don't worry, Lancer is very strong," Caster patted Frankenstein's shoulder and then controlled the golem to take the restrained Spartacus back to their base.

No one understood her meaning!

Frankenstein roared anxiously, knowing that Caules was aware of Lancer's misunderstanding of Cyd as a Red Servant. However, it seemed that few people listened to Caules, and the only one who might understand, Fiore, was nowhere to be found!

Now, no one could stop Vlad III from attacking Cyd!

"Crack----"

Siegfried entered Frankenstein's line of sight.

"Wuwuwu!" Frankenstein immediately grabbed Siegfried's hand and gestured.

Siegfried: "…."

[Saber, go quickly to help Lancer!]

Siegfried nodded.

I understand!

Then he drew his sword and attacked Cyd.

Frankenstein: "…."

"Tsk, you misunderstood. I'm a Ruler!"

Siegfried's arrival increased the pressure on Cyd. Originally, he had been barely holding back from defeating Vlad III, but with Siegfried's involvement, controlling his strength became even more difficult.

"Ha, do you think such a ridiculous lie can deceive me!" Vlad III scoffed. He had clearly heard Spartacus refer to Cyd as an ally and block attacks for him.

Even if mad, someone who must be protected seemed to be a close comrade!

Siegfried silently swung his sword at Cyd.

"Clang-----"

Siegfried's eyes narrowed. His dragon-slaying sword Balmung struck Cyd's neck, but it felt exactly the same!

Cyd looked at Balmung resting on his neck with a smirk. "Useless."

The sensation was exactly like when fighting Achilles—not that his attack was blocked, but it had no effect at all!

Vlad III's face darkened. He had just noticed that as long as his iron stakes hit the target, they would grow directly from the opponent's body. But from the beginning until now, none of the iron stakes had any effect on Cyd. Although his fierce attacks seemed to leave no room for counterattacks, in reality, Cyd had not fought back at all.

"Wuwuwu!" Unable to think of any solution, Frankenstein roared and charged at Cyd, using her own body to push away Vlad III and Siegfried, then stood in front of Cyd with her arms outstretched.

"What do you mean, Berserker?" Vlad III frowned.

"Wuwuwuwu!" Frankenstein kept waving her hands.

Siegfried and Vlad III exchanged glances and saw confusion in each other's eyes.

"This child means that this white-haired Servant is a Ruler, not our enemy," Cyd said as he patted Frankenstein's head.

Frankenstein nodded vigorously.

"By the way, my real name is Cyd," Cyd grinned.

At this moment, Vlad III recalled that the glasses-wearing Master had been looking for other Masters to discuss matters, but no one had paid him any attention. His sister had fallen asleep due to medication, and the Servants had been discussing the Red Rider's true name brought back by Saber.

A blunder!
