Chapter 4: Ch 4 Crossroads
As my sight returns I'm just standing in a random city square, looking around I'm surrounded by what I assume are other players.
The first thing I notice is I'm the tallest person by far not many people chose to be taller than 7 feet and no one but me went to max height. I'm starting to feel a bit embarrassed.
"Yo look at that guy he is too tall" someone said.
"Why would anyone want to be that tall" another guy said.
"He's probably short IRL" an ugly girl with a hot body said.
They're just jealous of my enormous height I'm just going to leave to get away from their jealousy. I immediately faceplant straight into the ground after tripping over my feet. It actually hurt a bit so looks like there is pain in the game.
Fuck my life I quickly crawl into a nearby alley so I can learn to walk in peace, I gradually get up with my hand against the alley wall then I take 5 mins to just get used to walking and jumping at this height.
I hear a slow clap from behind and see a regular-sized tall guy with short ginger hair, an X-shaped scar on his forehead, and a condescending look on his face.
"Looks like learned to walk you were like a tumbling giant" said the mystery man.
"Who the fuck are you?" I asked feeling pissed off I was embarrassed again.
"DouxBurst remember the name I'm gonna be someone big in this game" Then he walked away trying to look cool.
"Loser" I said under my breath as I walked around to get my bearings, as I walked about I noticed lots of people staring at me.
Looks like this height won't do me any stealth favors while thinking that I suddenly thought I hadn't checked the menu or status yet.
"Menu" I said aloud

Quite the sparse menu but it's nice to see the log-out button as much fun as VR is I do want to be able to leave.
I open status and am greeted with

The Voice of All Things LVL MAX
I stop in the middle of a street, the voice of all things? Of course I know what that is, but why do I have it now only 3 characters in the whole series had this ability Luffy, Roger, and Momonsuke.
It's not even that useful of an ability we barely even know what it can do, do all players have this, or is it unique to me?
I tap on the skill.
The Voice of All Things
Allows the player to hear the voices of animals, objects, and more.
Very vague just like the power from the series originally the One Piece fandom thought this ability allowed Roger to hear the contents of the ponegylphs but later it was discovered that Oden was responsible for translating the poneglyphs for the roger pirates, meaning other than talking to animals I'm not sure what this power is used for.
I walk up to a tree planted in a pot outside someone's house.
"Voice of all things" I say trying to activate the skill, but nothing happens. Maybe I need to will it to happen or maybe start a conversation with it.
I stare intensely at the tree and say "Wonderful weather we're having must be great for your luscious leaves" and still nothing.
"Are talking to that tree" a voice calls out from behind I turn to see a short brown-haired kid.
I slowly walk up to the kid until I'm towering over him and while attempting to probe him I say "yes I was trying to unlock my first skill"
He said "I think the skills are more like sword fighting or knitting Rio said there's no magic so probably no talking to trees"
"No harm in trying, I'm Eiichiro Oda nice to meet you" I say stretching out my long arm to shake his hand. He grabs it and says.
"KaiserKid at your service your names long so ill just call you Oda, how do add friends in this game?"
"I don't see any option for that maybe there are no friends or in-game messages" I reply.
"That sucks, well I'll just have to remember you, Oda the giant see you around" he stated the quickly ran off.
I walk around for 20 more minutes asking some NPCs some questions their responses were incredibly real.
Anyway, the gist of the starting location is that it's a large island housing the Crossroads Kingdom currently the city I'm in is the biggest of the cities in the kingdom also named Crossroads City. The remaining 2 cities are smaller and more like towns named South Rock and South Tree, mining and Lumber hubs respectively.
These towns are where the majority of players are going as the training grounds are in South Rock while in the forest by South Tree there are wolves and bears to hunt.
The Crossroads City was more of a tourism and administrative city with little to do in terms of work or fights. With the vast majority of players going off to level I decided that i'll head to the library I want to look up the various islands on South Blue and see if my knowledge is accurate.
After 5 minutes of a surprisingly brisk walk with these long legs of mine, I arrived at the Crossroads library, as I enter I have to duck a fair bit in order 2 enter the building. Now I'm really starting to regret my height.
"WOOAH You sure a big fella, WELCOME TO THE CROSSROADS LIBRARY" the man behind the front desk yelled in a tone far too loud for a library.
"Umm hello, I was wondering if I came to the right place to read some books" I asked.
"SURE THING IM BELLMAN THE LIBRARIAN OF THESE HALLS FEEL FREE TO ASK ME ANYTHING ABOUT ANY BOOKS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR" he shouted yet again with a smile on his face.
"Ok do you have any books on the islands in the south blue or the world map in general" I ask looking for a south blue map.
"OVER THERE IN SECTION GZ68 YOU CAN FIND INFO ON THE SOUTH BLUE, BUT BUDDY YOU WONT FIND ANY WORLD MAP HERE" he says laughing.
"Oh, really why is that?" I ask already knowing the answer.
"BECAUSE THE WORLD IS SO CHAOTIC THAT NO ONE CAN MAKE A MAP THE BEST YOU CAN GET IS SMALLER MAPS OF THE 6 AREAS OF THE OCEAN"
Listening to this guy is giving me a headache I give him a small nod as I turn to go to this GZ68 section its right over there next to the 84-7U section confusing me on how this library is organized when the obnoxious librarian shouts again after me.
"DON'T YOU WANT TO KNOW THE 6 SEAS?"
"Sure" I say already knowing what the answer is.
"THEY ARE THE 4 OUTERS SEAS NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, AND WEST AND THEN THERE IS THE GRAND LINE SPLIT BETWEEN PARADISE AND THE NEW WORLD" he yet again shouts letting me know despite his loud demeanor he's still knowledgable.

Hmmm, that's interesting.

There we go meeting some characters for later on both Doux and Kid will come back again but that's obvious
And reveal of the knowledge is power achievement set, its the thing that will propel mc into an Intelligence based strength
