"HUH?"
TRACK: Arctic monkeys (2:25- 3:13)
Dehydrated, confused and out of place.
"WHAT THE FUCK!"
A loud piercing sound burst through my ears. The music rings volumes I can't bear.
I can't find where the sound is coming from.
"Where am I?"
All the 0's are lined up on the clock except for 5. Darkness devours every light of the room yet It fails to hide the time. I intently look around my surroundings. The blinds are closed and each objects shadows are congruent with each other.
Adrenaline shoots up my entire body as I do my best to remain vigilant. I stood immediately, but the momentum I went for made me pave the ground. Piles and piles of bottles were surrounded in the room.
I reached for my head and check for any bruises in my body. I feel alright so far. After the fall, and a few contemplating moments, I realized that
"It smells like?"
I grabbed a smashed bottle with substance still leaking through its sharp cracks.
"Burbank?"
My eyes are barely opened and my body can barely stand but still, I pursued to get out of the room. 'Slightly having double visions, but a stable breath. The moment I got out of the bedroom I stand for a quick second to contemplate or understand what's beneath me.
"Huh."
The view from above the stairs created an instant realization that, this is all remains of an effervescent, party. A man's passed out by the stairs, party streamers are everywhere and I can tell that the people sleeping on the cold floor are tired and mentally wrecked.
Soon, A trail of cigarette smell filled the air. The aroma climbs up to my nose. The smell of booze and cigarette buds are in the air, I can't stand this. I closed the door to my left and took a peak to look at the right.
"What's that on the other room?"
A smashed lampshade is near a ruined table, I examine it closely before my gaze redirect me to a mirror. I looked closer, I wiped the moist off of its glass and blinked numerous times.
I brushed my middle part away as I raise my eyebrows.
'Opened my mouth, checked my teeth below and above.
This feels strange.
Trying to recollect as I support my head with my hand; I slammed back against the floor as the slippery floor greeted me hello.
"COME, ON!"
Frustrated, A call rings from my pocket. I tried to navigate which pocket, but by the time I reached the phone from my back pocket, I already missed the call.
I need to ease my mind. I can't figure out anything If I panic and whine about it.
30 missed calls and 27 unread messages. Who is this?
(What's been happening in your world?)
Someone must've left the speakers on repeat.
Slowly but surely, I stood up and opened the door to exit the bathroom.
(What have you been up to?)
As I open the door and lay nonchalantly to its hinge, a woman appeared from my left peripherals.
(I heard that you fell in love, or near enough.)
Her hands reached for my cheeks. Followed by a temperature check by holding me in the neck.
I squinted real hard to try and make sense or know who she is.
From blurry to steady, I can't seem to differentiate the both of them. I have no time for this, so I brushed her off with a smile as I head downstairs.
"This feels like a whole other world, huh?"
I'm already at the front door and half the people that are down are still asleep. A man came to the same direction and went out the front door to leave.
(I gotta tell you the truth,)
Blatantly, another call rings once more.
Eagerly, I looked at my phone as I turn my brightness up.
(I wanna grab both shoulders and shake, baby)
I answered the call, a shout of worry cries through the speakers. My head-ache seems to worsen but I have an idea who it is. The voice seems so familiar, almost nostalgic.
Her screams, doesn't make me scared or . No matter how angry she is, I see, I see that she just really cares about my well-being.
I got out of the house with swift motion and ended the call immediately.
I hail for a taxi cab that was about to make a u-turn,
A call follows up once more.
The music faded as I get out of the gate and hopped onto the car.
Minutes pass by but I still pay no attention to the call.
20-30 mins came and I finally arrive.
I rushed through the front door and jumped through a fence packed with aggressive dogs.
I didn't knock anymore. I know where I am.
I dropped my bag and took my shoes off with swift motion.
"Oh my! October! I came looking all over for you!"
"Dont you have any remorse or sympathy for your-!"
I hugged her tight. I fail to hide my emotions when It comes to the woman that gave me the world.
The only person that sees and shoulders my troubles when I feel like something is off.
My mom froze in awe and let anger subdue. She reached back and returned the hug.
"Dear, you don't run when the weight of the world crushes your soul."
"You let somebody else hear, and help share, bare the burden when It's too much for a child like you."
"Rest and feel nirvana."
I didn't let go. I didn't fight back anymore and I finally listened to what she said.
Something I should've done for years ago.
The weight of the glass corridor welcomes me with pain and ends all my delusions.
"This feels like."
A fulfilling, effervescent dream.
