Chapter 63: Chapter 62.
Multiple POV's.
Zach's POV.
"Phew. You fuckers just won't quit will you." I said nearly out of breath.
I had been fighting them for an unknown amount of time. It was long enough that the original five members that I was fighting to die. That was when the worst possible thing that could happen, happened.
Reinforcements came and I was once again outnumbered. It seemed that the Black Death Organization really wanted to wipe us off the face of the Earth.
Tenacious bastards!
But I pressed on, I needed to if I was going to make it out of this shit storm alive. Which, in the back of my mind I was still hoping with a small sliver in me to live.
I moved my body like never before, bobbing and weaving through the brush and trees. Diving behind cover whenever necessary as well as making sure that I never stopped moving even for a moment.
The moment that I stopped moving would be the moment that I died. My head was ringing from all the bullets flying past as well as the sound of gunfire so nearby. It was making it hard to concentrate, to add on to that my body was slowing down the adrenaline that I was burning through, was finally running out.
That was when I heard fighting in the distance, it only grew closer and closer. So naturally I re-readied myself to get into a fighting position.
I needed to be ready for when even more fucking reinforcements came. That was when I heard their war cry. One that I would never forget since it belonged to my men.
I don't know how they found me. Well, I could guess with all the gunfire, but I was glad that they came to my rescue.
My family was back even if I didn't want them to be caught up in this mess. I didn't know then, but my family truly was back in more ways than one.
"What the hell are you guys doing here." I yelled at the top of my lungs, unable to contain my happiness.
I had resigned myself to dying here, in this forest amongst the enemy. As far as I was concerned it wasn't a bad way to go.
However just as I was ready to die my brothers came charging in, killing the last remaining fee terrorists and saving my ass. I couldn't help but feel relieved.
"What did you think we would just sit back and watch you kill yourself." on of them said and I just chuckled.
I was stupid I should have known they would find me and do whatever they could to rescue me. Either way I was glad that they made it in time.
I put my hand up, as I was sitting on the ground tired, they grabbed onto my hand each one of them and lifted me up off of the ground. It was a touching moment where all the brothers were helping their lone and stupid wayward brother.
In the next few minutes my brothers took care of all our enemies and safely secured the area. Making sure that no one else was near us. As well as making sure that there were no traps.
Everyone rested, ate and wrapped their wounds. We didn't have a lot of time left until our EVAC, but we still wanted to be in proper fighting shape.
Well at least mostly.
A few hours later and a long hike out of the forest we were finally picked up at the EVAC point.
Heading home to our families, and my beautiful wife.
I hope she is ok.
