Chapter 1048: Epilogue — The Beginning and End of Everything!

Editor: Atlas Studios

Hermione turned the letter over and over again, as if trying to find something different about it, and even tapped the letter with her wand.

"Aparecium ~ (Apparition)"

A faint magical ripple passed over the surface of the letter, but nothing happened…

"Don't you trust me that much, Hermione?" Yvonne asked, pulling the witch into her arms.

Hermione gave a small snort of distaste, and one could not blame her for being cautious and suspicious, as Ivan's relationship with someone over the past decade had been ridiculously good.

She read about Luna in the Daily Prophet yesterday.

During her travels in recent years, Luna has discovered dozens of nearly extinct magical creatures such as Crumple-Horned Snorkacks, Plimpies, and Harassers, surpassing Newt Scamander as the most influential magical beast of the century!

However, she remembered that these strange magical creatures were clearly created by Luna. Now that they had actually appeared in the wizarding world, she knew that there must be something wrong!

The only person in the wizarding world capable of such a feat was her husband, Ivan Harris!

Therefore, she suspected that their relationship was not as simple as just being good friends, but she could not find any evidence of it…

"Don't be so paranoid, Hermione…" said Ivan, flicking Hermione's forehead in amusement. "Think about it. If Luna and I really had something going on, we wouldn't be communicating by letter. Wouldn't it be better to just use the Weave?"

The so-called Weave was a magical communication network that relied on magical imprints to exist, and was one of Ivan's accomplishments over the past nineteen years. It was the equivalent of a personal terminal in the world of science fiction, and it contained information on all wizards.

Through this magical network, wizards could communicate with each other regardless of distance, materialize each other's magical images, or send their coordinates to perform Apparition, or even browse information and purchase items on the web.

The most important role of the Weave, of course, was to make it easier for the Confederation to manage every wizard.

And as the true master of the Weave, if Ivan wanted to have a private conversation with someone, no one would notice.

Hermione was taken aback, as that seemed to be the case. Although Ivan and Luna often exchanged letters, they never kept them from her.

As for the creation of these magical creatures, those in the know could tell what was going on by looking at the newspaper.

If Ivan simply wanted to make Luna happy, he could have done it in secret. There would have been no need for him to put it in the newspaper.

"Well, it seems I've been thinking too much and wrong about you!" Hermione's suspicions were allayed, and she gave Ivan an apologetic peck on the cheek.

Ivan, however, wasn't going to let it go so easily. He grabbed Hermione by the back of her head and kissed her on the lips.

Hermione, panting softly, glanced at the clock on the wall, and her expression changed. "Oh, it's so late," she said urgently. "Let go, I have to go to work!"

"What's the hurry? Stay with me for a while longer, or take the day off and go tomorrow." Ivan rolled over and pinned Hermione down on the sofa, poking her forehead as he teased her. "You're the current President of the Wizarding Federation, who would dare object?"

"How can you do that?" Hermione rolled her eyes. Unlike some of the previous presidents who had been known to skive off work, she was not expected to inspire her subordinates to do their jobs without setting an example.

Hermione struggled to push Ivan off her, and after tidying herself up, she used Disapparated.

Ivan shook his head and waved his hand, causing the letter to float into his hand.

"After all these years, it's still the same…" Yvonne read the letter carefully and smiled when she saw Luna's encryption method. She used her Elder Wand to draw a circle on the letter, and the words rearranged themselves.

[Thank you for the offer, Ivan, but I think the job is just as good, and Michaela has recently been injured, so I'll have to take care of her myself, if you'll forgive me, but I won't be able to go to Hogwarts as a professor this year. —Your most loyal friend, Luna Novgood]

At the end of the letter was a drawing of two little people holding hands. Yvonne smiled at the familiar Q-style drawing, remembering the old days. She wrote a terse reply and sent it back in the same encryption.

There was nothing particularly special about the contents of the letters, as they were encrypted in a special way that was both nostalgic and enjoyable for both of them.

He was not, as Ivan and Hermione put it, unfaithful or anything of the sort, and was partial to Luna in terms of friendship and guilt.

During her time at Hogwarts, she was a great help to him, and because of him, Luna lost her chance to befriend Harry and the others.

Therefore, Ivan always wanted to make it up to Luna, and over the years, he created many interesting magical creatures in accordance with Luna's fantasies, and then deliberately hid them in a dense forest to reveal information for her to find.
