Chapter 409: Ron: I Don't Believe It! Professor Dumbledore Can't Be So Biased!

Editor: Atlas Studios

Ivan's words silenced Harry, and he felt the weight of the Firebolt in his bag as he touched it.

He did not expect Professor Dumbledore to be so concerned and concerned about him while he was away!

Harry was moved, tears welling up in his eyes, and he made a silent decision not to let Professor Dumbledore down.

He must overcome his fear of Dementors and win this year's Quidditch Cup!

Ron looked at Harry with envy, and added the Invisibility Cloak, which Professor Dumbledore had anonymously given Harry for the second time.

However, looking at the broomstick in front of Ivan, Ron asked curiously, "Then why did Professor Dumbledore send you a Firebolt?"

Before Ivan could speak, Harry said speculatively:

"This must be Professor Dumbledore's reward for Ivan! After all, he saved so many lives on the Quidditch pitch… and I'm afraid Professor Dumbledore didn't want Ivan's Quidditch talent to go down the drain."

Harry then turned to look at Ivan, who he thought was a much better flier than he was.

When Harry first heard of Ivan's withdrawal from the Quidditch team, he was quite disappointed, believing that Professor Dumbledore's gift of the Firebolt must have had a similar meaning!

"Well, yes! That's exactly what Harry said!"

Ivan nodded with an odd expression as Harry and Ron looked at each other.

Everything he had just said had been made up on the spot, and he had not expected Harry to not only continue the lie he had made up, but also somehow make sense.

This made Ivan want to curse. 'You're a better liar than me?'

Ivan then added, as if remembering something, "By the way, Professor Dumbledore didn't want anyone else to know, or the other teams would have called him biased!"

Harry and Ron nodded; they certainly understood this and promised to keep their mouths shut!

Ivan saw that they agreed readily, so he did not say anything more and split some of his attention to check on Scabbers.

The grey-black rat, no longer nervous, returned to Ron's pocket without interest.

All it heard from Harry Potter and the others was "Dumbledore buying two expensive-looking brooms for a battered Harry and a well-performed Ivan", which was not worth caring about.

Ron, however, was not going to give up. He looked at the Firebolt on the table with envy. "Harry, Ivan! Do you think Professor Dumbledore might have bought each of us a Firebolt?"

Harry was at a loss for words, unsure how to respond for fear of undermining Ron's confidence…

Yvonne rolled her eyes. 'You wish!'

Ron did not have the necessary merits, was not Sirius's godson, and was, at best, a friend of Harry's, so getting his hands on a Firebolt was a pipe dream, and Sirius would never be such a spendthrift, no matter how rich he was…

Ron, however, sat hopefully on a stool by the window, looking out at the endless blue sky and expecting a third owl to swoop in with a large package in its beak.

If his two best friends could get a Firebolt, there was no reason he couldn't… Professor Dumbledore would never be so biased!

Ivan saw what Ron was doing and shook his head to himself, but he did not try to persuade him otherwise. Instead, he put away the Firebolt that Sirius had sent him.

If he could solve Peter Pettigrew's problem and have some spare time, Ivan might consider playing Quidditch.

After all, at the end of the school year, a Quidditch trophy would give him quite a few achievement points.

While Ivan was deep in thought, Harry approached him and, after a moment's hesitation, asked, "Ivan, can you teach me how to fight off Dementors?"

"What's the matter? You haven't been to Professor Lupin's these past few days?" Yvonne was surprised; he remembered reminding Harry of this.

"I've tried, but Professor Lupin doesn't seem to be in good health recently. He said that he won't be free for a while, and Professor Lupin also said that you know more about the Patronus Charm than he does, so he'll just ask you to learn it…" Harry said helplessly.

"Is that so?" Yvonne raised her eyebrows, but she soon realised that Lupin's refusal to admit that he was ill was probably because he was too anxious and worried about the upcoming full moon to give Harry special treatment.

"Well, if you want to believe in my teaching skills, I can certainly teach you!" Yvonne agreed after a moment's thought.

He thought it would be a good opportunity to explain Peter to Harry, in case there was a misunderstanding when Harry and Sirius met…

Harry was delighted when Yvonne agreed, as Dementors had become an obsession with him over the course of the school year, and he did not want to faint every time he encountered one.

"Don't count your chickens before they hatch," Ivan said sternly. "I don't have as much teaching experience as Professor Lupin, and my teaching methods may be rough. You have to be prepared!"

'Rough?'

Despite his concern, Harry nodded solemnly, indicating that he would go through with it no matter how hard it was.

"So when do we start?" Harry asked eagerly, eager to learn how to deal with Dementors.

"I need to prepare some props, so let's set it for tomorrow evening! As for tonight, just familiarize yourself with the spell!" Ivan said, then demonstrated to Harry.

"Expecto Patronus!" Ivan chanted, moving his wand with a curious frequency.

Stars of white light appeared, and an endless white mist poured from the tip of the wand. Calm, peaceful emotions welled up within her.

"Expecto Patronus!" Harry tried to commit the incantation, the movement, and the strange sensation to memory as he waved his wand and chanted the incantation, but nothing happened.

Harry was not discouraged; it was clear that advanced Charms were not something that could be learned in a short period of time.

Ivan demonstrated for a while, then put the wand away and thought about how he would teach the next day.

The only two Bogarts at Hogwarts were now dead, and Ivan did not expect to find a third any time soon.

But it didn't matter if he didn't have a Boggart… there were so many Dementors around the school, why not just grab one?

Ivan was about to do the same, which is why he warned Harry that teaching might be rough…
