Mauve tried not to show her thoughts on her face as she sat with Louis in the library. Danag had found Louis and pulled him into the library on her behalf, as Jael still had his hands tied up, which meant he was the only person left to keep her company—and he didn't seem very pleased about the idea.

"You don't expect me to teach you magic every day, my lady?" Louis scolded as Mauve stared at him eagerly.

The sarcasm in his tone was as clear as day, and Mauve scrunched up her nose. Only Louis knew how to make the title sound so annoying. "There is nothing wrong with that. Besides, very soon I will barely have any time for this. If I don't learn all that I can now, when will I?"
