Chapter 145: 145. Poor Shape

Damon flipped the letter after reading as if he expected to see more behind but he was greeted with a blank page. He turned back to the main page and he had a hard time believing the words he was reading.

He turned suddenly and stomped back to where the old lady stood on the stairs scrambling around to see if any missing coins still lay on the ground.

"What is the meaning of this?!" His voice echoed in the dark room.

She jerked at his voice even with his loud approach she did not realize until he spoke. She blinked, squinting as she lifted the lamp.

"What do you mean?" Her eyes darted around. 

"Are you sure you sent the letter to the right place and this isn't some forged reply?" He yelled.

That was the only explanation for what he had just read. There was no way a King would write something like that, especially about his daughter.
