Chapter 15: Chapter 15_ The Dean's office

Teacher Magnus smirked " That is the power of channeling. You get to explore various aspects of your power " he said to the boy.

The boy nodded, maybe in understanding or maybe he was only saying he understood in other to not provoke the teacher.

"Close your eyes teacher" Magnus ordered him.

He closed his eyes.

"Travel to the depth of your powers" the teacher said. He held the boy's hand and spreads them to the right and left side of the boy.

Teacher Magnus used his own finger to trace the veins under the boy's flesh.

"Make the power travel to your hands through the veins. Think of the sunrise in the sky now and ask nature to borrow from its energy" he paused.

The boy now had his hands raised looking

like a nailed doll.

"Bend the borrowed energy to your will and feel it at your fingertips. Now lay your hands on the altar and lift it" he ordered.

After some seconds, the boy lifted the altar up a little bit to our amazement.

Everyone clapped including me, it was the first trial and he did it well even if he was only able to lift it just a little bit.

Some of my mates stood up and put their two fingers in their mouths and blowed whistle with it.

The boy smiled on proud of himself.

"That's enough.." teacher Magnus was saying but we cut him off.

"Yes sir!" We chorused simultaneously.

He shook his head, we were frustrating him with our out of bound yes sirs but I guess we were all doing it intentionally.

I was doing it intentionally though.

He turned to the boy " You did well for a first time but practice harder. What you did now was just a tip of the iceberg. With channeling, you should be able to lift a house" he commended.

His words made murmurs erupt from the rest of the class.

Lift a house? The boy only had one ability to eat metals but with channeling he can send it into other aspects?

Cool!

I guess this channeling was probably the most powerful class here.

"What do you think?" I asked the Mia since Mackenzie was not siting with us this time

I bent my neck to see the expression on her face.

"I believe his class is a serious one but it did succeed in getting my attention " Mia prolonged the simple question I asked and replied me.

Perhaps annoyed by our noises, " If you have a question, you ask me directly not your mates that are as clueless as you" he sternly said to the whole class.

"Yes sir!" We replied.

Teacher Magnus nodded approvingly.

"Good, now please ask questions ". He urged us.

I shot my hands up immediately along with some other students including Mackenzie.

Luckily, the teacher called me first.

"You" he pointed at me. He said the class was mainly for the 18s but he called me first. I guess he remembered me from the incident the night before.

"Sir, he had metal eating ability. Are you saying he can be metal himself and thereby be able to lift heavy objects with channeling?" I asked with curiosity flying around my words.

"Yes I believe that is what I have been saying " he replied me shortly and moved to the 18s row.

He called on to Mackenzie and she stood

up. I was surprised she wanted to ask questions in class.

She was the type that laid low avoiding attention.

"I have the ability to read minds, if I got the theory right I can control minds with channeling right?"

"Yes with channeling and practice. We would start the channeling training soon after you master what channeling is itself." Teacher Magnus explained.

He took some other questions and finally dispersed the class.

Everyone returned to their seats and were glad we were back with our personal comrades.

"Time to go see the dean" Mia sulked and announced.

I and Mackenzie grumbled. We really do not want to see the dean!

While others were chitchatting in the class, we stood up and proceeded to the dean's office.

We had not walked too many yards when we got lost, we stood up like people who knew their destination when we do not even know where we are going to exactly. " I have an idea!" Mia announced.

Some seniors were passing by also sharing gists with their friends.

"What?" Me and Mackenzie chorused.

Maybe she knew the way.

" Medusa can do what she did before and lead us there"

I was surprised this was coming from Mia, she was supposed to be smart!

"How?" Mackenzie asked confused.

I knew what she meant, because I led us to the basement before, she probably thought I had a supernatural power to see directions.

That wasn't power at all, the overwhelming aura I felt was that of Ajax calling on to me according to his plans.

At least, that was what I thought because l do not have such a lame ability as just being able to trace directions.

I imagined my powers as something great like flying or shooting fires.

That would be fun!

Not a lame 'ask for directions' powers.

"Like how she led us to the senior before" Mia replied Mackenzie.

To avoid having to explain the whole thing, I went ahead to tap a senior. " Please where is the way to the dean's office?"l asked the female senior politely.

She gave me the directions after a minute of pause and I thanked her.

.

We followed the directions and soon found ourselves in the general building according to what the senior called it.

We had to enter an elevator to the floor of his office and soon, we were standing in front of him.

We stood in front of his desk in his big and modernized office.

There was a library of books behind his chair and portraits hung on the wall. On the desk was a glass name plate which had 'Dean Androcles' embedded in it.

"Good day to you sir " we greeted while looking down at our legs.

"Good day to you three musketeers. I would like to speak to you all one after the other starting with Miss Clarke first. The others please go sit on the bench outside." He told the girls and they moved out swiftly, leaving me alone with the man.

The dean rested his back on his chair "I want in detail the whole account of the incident" he said to me.

From where I stood, I explained everything to him as he listened with keen interest. I watched how his face expressions changed as I relate the incident.

"Sit" he told me when I was done.

I sat down.

He narrowed his eyes at me " Who is your father?" He asked me.

I told him about how I've never gotten to know my father and how I've lived without one.

"This is a serious issue. The description of the person you spoke of seemed like the description of Ajax" the dean said.

My eyes widened "Yes sir, that's his name!"

"If Ajax is who you speak of then I think I might know who your father is"

What? He knew who my father was?

My heart that had never acted strange whenever anyone mentioned my father, suddenly started beating loudly.

Father..

"You do?" I asked in a low tone.

"I believe I do but I have to wait till you're 18 to be sure" he replied.

If I had waited 17 years of my life for a father,I can endure some few more days till I was 18 and get my answers.

There was no rush in that.

I will know who my father is soon.

"Ajax was a former student of this college some years back. He was a good and promising student but he went rogue all of a sudden. His power was different from every other power in the college. He had nearly the same power as his friend because they both had a more distinct blood flowing in

them than normal humans do. The college was proud to have them as they were powerful and solved even the hardest missions for us and made us more powerful amongst other magical colleges"

My gasp made the dean pause, was he telling me about my father?

Finally, I was going to hear things about my father. Finally I might even get to see him and know him.

The magical school took mama and Anas far away from me but it would be good if it gifted me with my father.

"I am sorry please do continue "I apologized to the dean for cutting him off while he was still speaking.
