Chapter 44: Reintroductions Of Klaus Mikaelson
"Thank you, Caroline." He smiled. "That blood…..."
He remembered the blood bag again.
"Yes.." She said, "About that."
She took out a knife from her pocket.
"Me and you…We aren't humans."
"What?" He looked at her. Shocked.
"Give me your hand." She took his hand in her own.
She cut his arm and it healed instantly.
"How…."
"We are vampires, Klaus." She told him, "Vampires."
"Vampires?" He looked at her.
His eyes went to the knife.
"Can I try?" He asked.
She nodded, he took the knife from her hands, and cut her arm. To see if she was telling the truth.
"So, I am a vampire." He said.
"Uh…"
"What?"
"Not exactly."
"So, I am not a vampire." He asked.
"You are a vampire and a wolf." She told him, "They call you the Hybrid."
"Who's they?" He asked.
"The whole supernatural community!" She told him. "They are terrified of Klaus Evil Hybrid Mikaelson."
"Why??"
"You are a thousand year old vampire! One of the Originals!" She told him.
"One of them?" He asked.
"The Original Family."
"What date is it, Caroline?" He asked.
"It's june 7th, 2021." She told him.
"2021?" He yelped. "So much time has passed!"
"What is the last you remember?" She asked. "What time?"
"I think it was 2011." He told her.
"2011!" She jumped. "That was..."
She remembered. That was the last they had met. His daughter went to school there. Hayley spent a lot of time cursing him from being absent from her life.
Caroline had tried to figure out where he was. But, she was so busy. And, his brother….Elijah Mikaelson knew where he was. Because, he said he did.
That's what he said.
"Typical Niklaus behavior." She remembered his words.
"Oh my God." She looked at him. "I am so sorry."
She hugged him.
"I am so sorry."
"Why are you crying, Caroline?" He asked her.
"I…." She looked at him. "I am sorry. I am so sorry, Klaus."
"What are you so sorry about?" He asked.
She didn't know how to tell him. Or what to tell him.
"Nothing."
She sat down on the floor.
"What is wrong?"
She was a complete stranger to him. Yet, he cared about her. He sat next to her.
"Nothing." She smiled.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yes." She stood up, "Come on, I have so many things to show you…."
Klaus Mikaelson looked at her like a lost puppy.
How he had forgotten everything was a mystery to her! She needed to help him.
A daughter was growing to hate her father. And, Caroline knew….no matter how much Klaus showed that he didn't care for his family. He would be heartbroken to see her not know him. Not love him. Not caring for him.
Caroline took him outside. It was as if he was a new vampire. She showed him how to function as a vampire. She taught him how to drink from a human without killing them. Something Klaus hadn't done in a long time.
It was as if she was taking care of a baby.
When they were coming back from a night out of teaching.
"Hey…" Klaus asked her. "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Where is my family?" He asked. "You said earlier…that I had a family."
She stopped.
"You know where they are, don't you?" He judged her facial expressions.
"Yes. I know." She admitted, "And, I will take you there…..I promise."
"Really?"
"Really." She said, "But, just....in some time."
He nodded.
"Okay."
"I just…I can't take you back." She told him, "You know, you have been gone for a long time."
"Can you tell me who I am, Caroline?" He asked. "Who am I?"
"Klaus…I.." She didn't know how to tell him.
How could she tell him that he was considered the most evil man in the world?
