"We run, and we hide," she whispered.
"We run and hide and never let him find us."
Viktor's Point of View
A Year Later
It had been about a year since Anya and I had marked and mated. A year of love and delight, exploring one another and falling even deeper in love. We hadn't been formally mated in front of Anya's brother Boris, the Alpha of the Lycan Pack, because he wouldn't have accepted our union. As much as I wished I could change our circumstances, I had been born human. If he found us, he would probably kill us.
Anya's love for me was strong, and I, in turn, loved her with all my heart and soul. There was no doubt in my mind where her love was concerned. She had given up so much for our love when she could have rejected me when we first met instead. Her brother's pack rules were that you were expected to reject any mate who was not wolf-born. It wasn't like this in other packs, but Anya was scared her brother would find out, so we ran.
