Chapter 2: Chapter 2 A new quest
"Whoa!" X and Z standing in silence, shocked by what they see. Hesitant, Z turn her head toward X, "err, is that it?" Scratching his head, X can only shrug his shoulder, "emm, I don't know, it's very different from what I thought it would be too." Confused, both of them scratching their head, seeing an almost empty room except only a pod standing tall in the middle, revealed from the hidden wall. Sighing, X step inside the secret room, "well, what did we expect, it's an abandoned lab after all, anyway, let's check out that suspicious pod and get out of here."
Nodding Z follow suit and step inside the hidden room, confused, X groping around the pod, "hmm, what should I do with this thing?" Scratching his head X wandering around the pod, without realizing it he accidentally touch the red orb activating the pod, "pshh!" Shocked, X quickly back away as the pod slowly open, while Z vigilantly drawn her saber and quickly stand in front of X. A holographic image of an old Cybertronian with white bushy bread while wearing a white gown suddenly appear inside the pod, "welcome to my labs, I have been waiting for you for a really long time my son."
Pushing Z to the side, X stand in front of the pod with mouth agape in shock seeing the hologram, "dad, but how?" Dr. Light hologram laugh seeing the flustered X, "ha-ha-ha-ha, before I can join the Allspark in the hand of Dr. Vile and those despicable Decepticon army that attacking our home. I have created a backup of my consciousness filled with my knowledge and spread them across the universe with this pod I have made a long time ago." Closing his mouth, X look at his father in excitement, "is that mean my mother consciousness is in this machine too?!"
Sighing, with a pained expression, Dr. Light slowly says, "I'm sorry my son, but your mother consciousness already one with the Allspark before I can save her." Distraught, X clench his fist in anger, with a sigh filled with grieve he loosens his fist, "well, what happen, happen I guess." Gratified, by X maturity Dr. Light looking at him gently, I'm glad you can understand my son." Hopeful again, X looks at his, "can you come with me father?" With a hint of bitterness, Dr. Light shake his head, "sorry, but I can't."
X eyes goes wide in shock, "why?" Sighing, with a heavy tone Dr. Light slowly explain, "unfortunately, my body and spark have been utterly destroyed in that attack, and what left, is what you can see here, a hologram made from my memory and consciousness when I'm still alive. If I did get revived, I won't be the same Cybertronian again, I will be a new individual, and this pod will be deactivated in a few hours." With a teary eye, X shout at Dr. Light, "why, why did you do this father giving me hope only to dash it!"
With tears streaming down his cheek, Dr. Light says, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry my son, I have done it to preserve a part of vital knowledge that pass down from Primus itself. The knowledge to build an Artificial Allspark in case of Cybertron destroyed by Unicorn." X and Z eyes goes wide in shock hearing the news, "what?!" Z realizing something, "ah, I finally realize the reason, why my father sending his subordinate to search this place." Surprised, Dr. Light cock an eyebrow while looking at Z, "if I may ask, who are you little girl?"
Z hesitate a little bit, but seeing Dr. Light encouraging gaze, she grits her teeth and tell her identity, "my name is Z, the daughter of Dr. Vile." Dr. Light eyes goes wide in shock, "what, if the news is true then, he's finally deciphered my notebook he stole from me, and that mean!" With a tone filled with urgency, Dr. Light turn his head toward X and plead to him, "please my son, go gather the other part of knowledge before Dr. Vile gather the other, as you are my only hope to stop him." X frown, "isn't the pod only containing the knowledge to build an artificial Allspark to rebuild Cybertron. Why did we have to stop him from creating another planet?"
With a solemn tone, Dr. Light shake his head, "the artificial Allspark not only can be used to create a planet, it can also be used to create god." Alarmed, both X exclaim while Z frozen solid in shock, "what, do you mean it can create god?!" Dr. Light once again shake his head, "sorry, but I can't answer you, as this pod doesn't have that part of the knowledge. At the same time, I have a lot to tell you and I fear we will be running out of time." Calming down, X ask, "so, how do we find the other pod then, father?"
A gadget suddenly appear under Dr. Light hologram, "use this to show you the location of the planet where I put the knowledge of artificial Allspark." X take the device from the pod and take a closer look at it, a small hand held device that can project a hologram image with a single button on it. Curious, X press the button and it show the map of the planet where the pod are located in the universe, "oh nice, a map, that would be handy." Dr. Light nodded, "please step inside this cabin, my son, I will be giving you an upgrade that can aid you in your journey."
Nodding, X step inside the cabin as Dr light hologram gone and only his voice that can be heard, "now relax and wait, it will be over soon." X suddenly fall asleep inside the cabin as tiny robotic arm appear from the ceiling and start doing something with his head. Dazed with a lot of things in her mind she looks at the pod with gaze filled with hesitation. Feeling her gaze Dr. Light small projection appear from the red orb in front of the pod. With a gentle smile Dr. Light ask, "what's wrong little girl, it, looks like you have something in your mind, you can let it all out to me, don't you worry I won't bite?"
Hesitating a little bit, Z bite the bullet and speak her mind, "should I really be hearing all of this doctor, after all I'm a Decepticon and the daughter of your arch enemy?" Dr. Light nodded, "of course you can hear it sweetheart, after all before you are a Decepticon you are a Cybertronian. You come here with my son, if he can believe in you that mean I can too. At the same time, when the pod activated, I can see you valiantly standing in front of X, trying to protect him. And you really remind of someone dear to me and X." Curious, Z ask, "oh, who is it?"
With an expression filled with nostalgia, Dr. Light says, "my wife, Shooting Star the great Decepticon warrior." Z eyes goes wide in shock hearing the names uttered by him, "wait a minute Shooting Star, did you mean that Shooting Star the legendary Decepticon that destroy an armada by herself?!" Taken aback, Dr. Light eyes goes wide in surprise by Z sudden outburst, "oh, it looks like you have heard of my wife military exploit, huh." Z gush out with excitement while moving closer to the pod, "of course I have heard her exploit, she's a legend among the female Decepticon out there! Anyway can you tell me how she is like in real life please?"
At first Dr. light try to refuse answering it but with Z puppy dog eye offensive he finally relented. Dr. Light helplessly shrug his shoulder, "okay-okay, I will tell you about her." Controlling her excitement, Z quickly sit down and hear what he's about to say. With a cough, Dr. Light start reminisce about the past, "my wife, unlike the other Decepticon today that filled their heart with deceit, arrogance, and malice. She's the embodiment of the true Decepticon of old before Megatron corrupt its meaning, as her heart is filled with loyalty, pride, and honor." Z listening all of this with relish, but something bugging her so she raise her hand, "can you tell me how she died?"
With a sigh filled with sadness Dr. Light tell Z the story how his wife died, "one day your father with a group of Decepticon invade my lab in Ostlakar a planet near Junkion. Sensing the danger, my wife quickly fly out to meet the enemy while I'm trying to load my son into the spaceship and send him to Junkion. While your father interfere by attacking me with his aide, unfortunately one of his attack fatally wounded me as I successfully load X safely into the spaceship. Noticing my ship leaving the planet, one of the Decepticon spaceship shoot its canon toward the leaving ship."
Choking up, a tear start streaming down Dr. Light face, "seeing that, my wife quickly fly in front of the ship carrying X, and so she died shielding her son from a cannon fire." Feeling an overwhelming guilt, Z kneeling in front of Dr. Light, "I'm sorry, for what my father have done to you, doctor." Caught off guard by Z sudden gesture, Dr. Light quickly try to stop her, "no-no-no, you don't need to apologize for your father, after all it's his fault not yours, so don't blame yourself." Z won't budge an inch, as she's still kneeling in front of him, "no, I still can't forgive myself, for the wrongdoing my father have caused to your family, doctor."
Feeling troubled, Dr. Light try to come up with something, "you know what, there's something you can do for me." Hopeful, Z eyes light up while looking at Dr. Light, "oh, what is it?" Smiling, Dr. Light says, "I entrust X to you miss Z." Stunned, Z goes frozen solid for a few second as her face turning red in embarrassment, "what???" "Ding!" A sudden sound from the pod interrupting Dr. Light and Z conversation as the doctor remarked, "oh, it looks like the upgrade is done," "pssh!" The pod door slowly opened, revealing X with a new horn attached around the red crystal on his forehead.
X suddenly open his eyes while yawning and stretching his body inside the pod, "yawn, that was a nice nap!" While blocking his yawn, X notice Z sitting on the floor with a face dyed in crimson, "err, what do I miss?" Realizing her situation, Z quickly stand up, "cough, nothing, you ain't missing much!" Stepping outside the pod, X looking at Z with suspicion, but he decides to not, press further, "alright then." Once again, Dr. Light hologram suddenly appear inside the pod, "congratulation, X you've successfully upgraded."
Pointing at his new horn, X ask, "so, what kind of thing does this horn do, please don't tell me this is only a decoration?" Speechless, Dr. Light shake his head, "of course those horn aren't only for decoration, it's an antenna for your mini-map function. From now on, you can use it to detect hidden item, room, hidden enemy, and nearly any creature with cloaking capability." Satisfied with the new upgrade X quickly thank Dr. Light, "thanks dad!" Dr. Light nodded, "you are welcome." Turning his head toward Z, Dr. Light says, "now Z, why don't you step inside the pod, I have a gift for you."
Surprised, Z quickly try to refuse, "no-no-no, you don't need to give me anything." Dr. Light shake his head, "no I insist you must take this gift." Puzzled, why Z trying to refuse the gift once again, X decide to intervene by gently pushing her inside the pod, "come on just take it Z." Panicking, she tries to get out from the pod, "wait, I don't-!" The pod door suddenly closed before she can escape, a flashing light can be seen from the inside of the pod as the door closed, "pssh!" Before long the pod door open revealing the angry Z with a new weapon on her fist, a pair of knuckle dusters, "bang!" Without saying anything, Z punch X in the gut, "guah!"
Angry, Z point her finger at the shriveled X that kneeling on the ground, "don't ever do that again, you hear me!" With a hoarse voice X quickly reply, while clutching his stomach in pain, "yes, I won't do it again." Laughing, Dr. Light hologram appear again from the inside of the pod, "congratulation Z that pair of knuckle dusters in your hand is one of my wife relic, Shooting Star Knuckle, with it you can do one of my wife famous move Cross Counter. A devastating counter move my wife created that can interupt enemy attack, and it can be used as defense too by punching at your enemy projectile and send it back."
Recovered from the attack, X enviously looking at Z hand while Z looking at her hand with fascination, "whoa, neat." Turning his head toward X, Dr. Light start to speak, "there's only one last thing left for me to do X." X feel his heart aching hearing it, "can't you come with us dad?" Sighing, Dr. Light shake his head, "I'm sorry, son but I can't, now please take this." With a whirr and flashing light a round gold ball appear under Dr. Light hologram. Taking a deep breath, X take the ball from underneath Dr. Light hologram. Smiling, Dr. Light say his goodbye, "now with this my work here, is done, goodbye you two, see you later when you're activating another pod!"
With a puff, the pod deactivated while Dr. Light hologram waving his arm toward them. X silently watching the pod for some times, until Z pat his shoulder, "what should we do next X?" Taking a deep breath, X turning his head and smile toward Z, "well, we will do what we originally intended to be doing, haul those Energon outside and go back to Junkion for some repair." Smiling back Z, nodded, "lets go then." Both of them get out from the pyramid and X quickly contacting Fixer, "hey Fixer, we found the Energon we need, please open the ground bridge at our location. Oh yeah, while you are at it, prepare something to carry all the Energon we find!"
Fixer happily reply while clicking on the terminal, "yes sir, I will carry out your order immediately!" Before long a ground bridge portal appear nearby with Fixer come out of it pushing a floating trolley while waving around his arm at us. The group move to the place where the Decepticon keeping their Energon. Before hauling them, X turn his head toward Z, "hey Z why don't you move Fort Blaster personal terminal into the ship first while I haul these Energon into the ship with Fixer. After that done, you can come and help us if we aren't done yet."
Z silently nodded and walk away toward the back of the pyramid. Full of energy, X turn his head toward Fixer shouting while point at piles of Energon on the ground, "ohhh, let's get this done in a jiffy, Fixer!" Infected with X energy Fixer, enthusiastically shouting, "yeah, let's go, woo!" While the boys do their thing Z enter the tent where she found the terminal and found a communicator beeping. Looking at the communicator Z hesitate to answer it or not, so she decide to ignore it for now, as she can't mimic Fort Blaster voice to fool the other side.
Before long a voice mail start playing from the other side making Z trembling in fear as she recognize that chiling voice. A heavy somewhat distorted robotic voice can be heard from the other side, "Fort Blaster, I'm on my way to your location, as our Master is displeased due your lack of progress." Z eyes goes wide in fear hearing the news so she quickly take the personal terminal and go to Fixer and X location. In a rush Z suddenly appear while bringing a terminal, noticing her, X wave his hand toward her, "hey Z what's wrong?"
Panicking, Z put the terminal on the trolley and hurriedly push it toward the bridge, "take everything you can and let's go, Sound Bass is coming to this planet!" Shocked, X dropping the Energon on his hand, "what!" Reacted, X quickly pick all the Energon he dropped on the ground, puzzling Fixer, "why both of you in such a hurry?" After taking all the Energon he dropped, X try to bring some more Energon to his arm, "of course we are in such a hurry, Sound Bass is coming and if we aren't fast enough, we will surely be destroyed!"
Confused, Fixer Scratch the back of his head, "what is the big deal with that Sound Bass?" X helplessly shake his head, "I will tell you about him later, for now, take this and bring it to the ship." Fixer suddenly getting buried in a mountain of Energon as he's not strong enough to lift the Energon X suddenly gave him. With some difficulty Fixer manage to crawl out off the mountain and decide just do what he told by bringing all the Energon he can carry into the ship. But without noticing it, a small part of Fixer body paint accidentally chipped off on an Energon crystal, leaving a colorful dust on the ground.
In the ship, Fixer start the engine and fly the ship towards Junkion while X and Z sit on the ground gasping for air, exhausted after transferring a large amount of Energon crystals into the ship. Curious, Fixer turning his head toward both of them and ask, "so, can you tell me, who the hell Sound Bass is?" Taking a deep breath, Z start to speak, "Sound Bass is my father's most reliable and loyal aide, a ruthless warrior and scientist, with abilities on par with the loyal aide of lord Megatron, Sound Wave."
Doubtful, Fixer eyes goes wide in surprise, "ehh, is Sound Bass really as strong as that Sound wave?" X nodded backing up Z claim, "yeah, it's true, that's why we quickly run away from the planet before he showed up." Even tough Fixer still in doubt, he decides to believe in what X and Z says. Recovered, X stand up and stretch his body, "anyway, let's go eat, I'm starving from everything that's happening today!" Hearing that, Z stomach starting to growl, "yeah, let's go eat, what's on the menu for today Fixer?"
Smiling, Fixer roll toward the dining room with the other, "well with how we have acquired an abundant supply of fresh Energon crystal. I decide to cook my special Energon crystal oil curry with mushroom, accompanying by fruit smoothie." Sitting down on the dinning table with X, Z cock an eyebrow hearing the menu, "oh it sounds wonderful, but I wonder how did you acquire the fruit and vegetable?" Fixer proudly beat his chest, while standing in front of the kitchen counter facing the dinning table, "well, while both of you're busy tracking down our target I send out the drone for some foraging."
X give Fixer a thumbs up while looking at him cooking in the kitchen, "that's a great move Fixer." Embarrassed, Fixer scratch his head while cooking, "thanks!" Before long, Fixer finish cooking and serve the food on the dinning table with a little flair, "wallah, your Energon crystal oil curry with mushroom, and fruit smoothie are ready to eat, please enjoy!" Impatient, X quickly dig in and give Fixer another thumb up, "wow, it's freaking tasty Fixer keep it up!" Z silently nodded while gracefully enjoying her food, with a proud grin, Fixer take his share and say, "thanks."
While the group in their spaceship en route to Junkion happily having dinner, a portal suddenly appear near the pyramid on the planet of Percival-8. A purple blackish Decepticon strikingly similar to Sound Wave emerge from the portal and see the destroyed camp. After taking a look around the area, the Decepticon use its communicator, "report sir, somebody has destroyed our camp located at Percival-8." Furious, the sound of banging table can be heard from the other side, "what, search the culprit and obliterate them immediately, Bass and make sure the secret treasure still there!"
Bass silently nodded, "yes, Dr. Vile!" closing off his communicator, Bass presses a button on his shoulder opening his chest, ejecting two cassette tapes into the air. The cassette tape start transforming in midair, the white tape turn into a hawk while the purple tape into a wolf. The hawk promptly perched on Bass shoulder while the wolf silently sit in front of him, opening his mouth the hawk ask, "so, what's, your order boss?" Turning his head toward the hawk Bass say, "Gospel I need you to do a wide search of the surrounding area, and you Treble!" Hearing his name getting called, the wolf sit in attention, "I need you to search the camp, got it!"
"yes, boss!" With a clear instruction, both Gospel and Treble start searching the area while Bass enter the pyramid. Standing in front of the deactivated pod, Bass use the communicator, "sir, I stumble across a deactivated pod from a previously inaccessible area." Shocked, a shrill shout can be heard from the other side, "what, those attacker must be stealing our target, find them immediately with any mean necessary!" Bass, nodded and then he hang up after replying, "yes, Dr.. Vile!" Stepping outside the pyramid, Gospel contacting Bass, "boss, I found something that might interest you!"
Cocking an eyebrow, Bass praise Gospel, "good job Gospel, now send me the image and the co-ordinate where you find it." A picture of a destroyed jungle nearby a ruined native settlement and a set of co-ordinate promptly appear on Bass retina. So, without further a do Bass step outside the pyramid and promptly activate his ship ground bridge to send him to the area shown from the co-ordinate. After taking a quick glance of the surrounding, Bass start searching the area for any possible clue. While searching Gospel perch on Bass shoulder asking for further instruction, "what's, your next order boss?"
Without looking at Gospel, Bass say, "just do my last order and search the area some more." Nodding, Gospel fly away, as Bass find something on the ground, "oh isn't that Fort Blaster cannon part." He takes the barrel from the ground and look around the area finding some fallen tree and plenty of potholes from explosion aftermath. Stroking his chin, Bass infer what happen from the state of the area and the evidence he finds, "from the evidence I gather and the state of this area. It seems like Fort Blaster, captured by a group of bounty hunters while he does his daily routines of terrorizing the locals populace, and."
Bass take a closer look at the barrel piece he found, "only a skilled swordsman can cut this thing so neatly, reminding me of that girl." Suddenly, Treble contacting Bass through the communicator, "sir, I find a piece of metal, determined to be from Cybertronian origin and from it, I also detected a faint smell of our old enemy." Bass cracking a sinister smile, "oh, it looks like they are finally daring enough to attack us, huh Z and X." Using the communicator Bass contacting the other, "everyone gather at my location now!"
Without hesitation, Gospel and Treble, move toward Bass location, transforming into their cassette tape form and get back inside Bass chest. Activating the ground bridge, Bass quickly left the planet with a bloodthirsty smile, "if they are the one taken the treasure left behind by Dr. Light that mean they will start hunting the other. Huh, just you wait Z and X your next treasure hunt will be your end!" A few days passed as X and Z ship finally arriving at Junkion safely, and now they carefully landed at the port. Stepping outside the ship, X looking at the crowded surrounding with nostalgia, "man, this place sure changed a lot from what it used to be."
Standing beside X, Fixer nodded, "yeah that's true the last time we come here this place isn't this crowded. "Fixer looking at the crowded fifthly bazaar filled with all manner of aliens and animal with disgust as one of the animal licking his face. Curious, from the back, Z ask while looking the scenery with interest, "oh, what this place used to be like?" Smiling, X tell Z what he knew about the planet, from the time he spent here as a child, "at first, this place used to be a floating debris made up from Cybertronian junk. So, at that time, the only creature that can live here are the Cybertronian that calling themselves Junkion."
While walking toward the custom office, X continue his story with pride, "that is, until my father come and built the Terraforming machine and turn this place into the full-blown planet we can see today. Because of the nature of this planet, prospectors with diverse background and races coming from the galaxy settle here in search for any valuable ancient Cybertronian artifact." Fixer roll his eye hearing that muttering, "what kind of ancient Cybertronian artifact it just a trash." Angry, X retorted, "hey if those artifacts a trash that mean you are a trash you know as I found you here!" Furious Fixer ignore X with a snort and silently rolling beside them.
Perplexed, Z curiously asking while following X into the custom, "is there really anything valuable among all of this junk?" Grinning, X helplessly shrug his shoulder, "of course, you will be surprised by what kind of thing everyone has found in this planet. But everything you found here is still a junk, so you still need some elbow grease and expertise to restore the thing you found to looks brand new to sell." Nodding, Z wait for X to finish filling the form and paying money for docking at the space station while Fixer running around the custom office in fear as a dog enter and chase him.
After chasing the dog away the group step outside the custom, as Z nudge X again, "so, if prospecting is a lucrative job here, why don't you become one?" Stroking his chin X walk toward the center of the town with the other in tow, "well, at first, I do want to become a prospector, but I found out first hand what greed bring upon this planet." Puzzled, Z silently follow X waiting for him to tell his story, "with how diverse the creature come settling on this planet searching for opportunity. Some come to take away the opportunity from someone else hard work without doing anything, so I decide to become a bounty hunter to punish those kind of bastard."
Before long the three of them stop in front of a palace protected by a group of Junkion guard. Confused, Z nervously asked X, "hey, I thought we were going to your uncle's house, are you sure this is the right place?" Grinning, X confidently hit his chest, "of course this is the right place, come on, let's get inside, I'll introduce you to him." Taking the advantage, X grab Z waist and take her toward the palace gate while Fixer scoffing at him. One of the guard stop them As they're moving closer to the palace gate, "stop, this is the residence of the leader of Junkion, state your business citizen!"
Seeing the guard stopping them, X happily wave his hand, "ah, hello there Junk Heap, long time no see!" Surprised, hearing his name being called, the guard looking up and down at X. Suddenly, the guard hugging X tightly while shouting, "X it's nice to see you again, man it has been years since the last time I saw you flying away with your spaceship leaving Junkion!" Hugging the guard back, X greet him, "yeah it's nice to see you too, Junk Heap, anyway how's my uncle, is he still getting nagged incessantly by aunties?" Releasing X from his hug, Junk heap awkwardly scratch his head, "well, you can say that, anyway who's this your new girlfriend?"
Junk heap curiously looking at Z making her somewhat shy even thought she never show it from her expression when facing stranger. Grinning, X proudly nodded, "well you can say that, ha-ha-ugh!" Turning crimson in embarrassment, Z suddenly give X an elbow to his side to make him shut up while nodding at Junk Heap, "nice to meet you Junk Heap, my name is Z." Junk Heap laugh seeing their antic while nodding politely at Z, "ah, nice to meet you too, Miss Z." Feeling left out Fixer suddenly fake a loud cough, "ahem!"
