Pokemon Saga: Journey of a Lifetime Ch53

After a long talk with Prof. Oak Ryan went to bed. He woke up and did his routine and started to plan his schedule. He never had to plan a schedule before because he was going to and forth from Team Rocket Mission Hall completing missions.

Since he has now been transferred to TRSF unit he will only get Z rank missions, which will be also given rarely. He only has two things to do. Train his pokemon and conduct the research.

He decided that he will go towards the Cerulean City viewpoint. It is one of the famous places in Cerulean city known for its beauty. He jogged towards Cerulean City Viewpoint. When he reached their his breath hitched for a moment. The scenery was absolutely beautiful.

No wonder tourist flock towards this place the most. The view this place gives is akin to something that you can only see in fantasy stories. From this place you can see all the pokemon that swimming underwater due to the sunlight bending making it translucent for our eyes.

Another thing that Cerulean City is famous for is its Glowing Cerulean Waves. The river all drain into a lake which has a variety of bioluminescent plants. These plants for unknown reasons glow brightly than ever on this particular season. When it is night time the water flows creating waves that makes the plants waver making it look like the wave is glowing. Thus, giving it the name Glowing Cerulean waves.

One of his objective is to research the plants in the lake and observe the behavior of the pokemon living there. The only issue with is that you have to cross the Cerulean Forest to get to the lake.

The forest is known for its high death toll hence giving it the name Grove of Death. If a trainer without a elite pokemon goes there they will only return as a corpse. Even if the trainer has a elite pokemon they cannot come back unscathed.

It is a place that was left by trainers as they don't have a death wish. Only elite trainers go into the forests. These elite trainers also can die if they mistake, so they bring 6 elite pokemon to defend themselves. It is now a rule that if a pokemon trainer wants to go into the forest they must have 6 elite pokemon or must be at least an Ace trainer.

Fortunately for Ryan Prof. Oak has arranged a group of elite trainers to escort Ryan through Grove of Death and reach the lake.

Ryan went to the Pokecenter and got ready. He went towards Nurse Joy and asked "Nurse Joy, Prof. Oak told me that a group of trainers would be coming. Do you know anything about it"

"That won't be necessary" said a voice before Nurse Joy could say anything.

There was a trainer with black hair and hazel eyes. There were 4 more trainers with him.

"Are you the trainers Prof. Oak hired?" Ryan asked.

"Yes, I believe we should introduce ourselves" the trainer said.

"My name is Ryan, Ryan Mortimer" said Ryan keeping it simple.

"I will introduce you to everyone. The tall boy with violet hair and black eyes is Marco. The girl beside him is Lisa. The girl and boy beside me are twins their names are Alicia and Alex. Finally my name is Wendell Clearwater, this group's leader" he said as he finished the introduction.

Lisa had Pink hair with azure blue eyes. She had tied her hair in a ponytail.

Alex had blonde hair and stormy gray eyes, he also had piercings on his ears and a tattoo on his neck.

Alicia was exact opposite, she had Blond hair with warm chocolate brown eyes. Her hair was smooth flowing till her hips.

Wendell had a well built body, messy spiky Black hair, Hazel eyes and a piercing in his lips.

"Its a pleasure" said Ryan but one can see distrust in his eyes though no one noticed it.

"I suppose you want to go to the forest right now?" Wendell asked.

"If you are okay with it." said Ryan.

Wendell saw his teammates who nodded their heads.

"Yes we are okay with it. We can leave at once" said Wendell

Soon Ryan along with the trainers left for the Cerulean Forest.

"How many days would we be staying there?" asked Alicia.

"Pardon?" said Ryan

"You are one of the famous researchers and the assistant for Professor Oak surely you would be doing field research for few days. Also Cerulean Forest is a little far so going forth and to from Pokecenter is not ideal" Alicia explained her thought.

"It is just as you said we will staying there for few days. The number of days will depend on the research we are doing. If I had to give you definite number it will be a maximum of 10 days" said Ryan.

"10 days!? What will you do in ten days?" exclaimed Lisa.

"Research always takes time Lisa. Its just like training that we do" said Marco

Ryan only nodded.

"We have entered the Cerulean Forest." Wendell informed.

Ryan nodded and took out some repels and gave them to the group. In this world Repel are made of particular herbs and materials that make pokemon unapproachable. They have very bad smell that is not detectable by humans.

"Thanks" said Wendell

Soon the whole group had sprayed repel on themselves. These repels keep pokemon till level 40 at bay only elite level pokemon can attack them.

Soon hours passed by as Ryan started to take note of things in forest including herbs. Ryan summarized everything about the Forest

The forest is densely thick just like Viridian forest but the leaves have slight tint of blue colour in them. The reason for this is the aura released by the water type pokemon in the surrounding lake. Water type aura is blue in colour. When these get densely concentrated, they infiltrate the tree leaves and converts their pigments to blue. Due to this the trees get rich in water type aura enhancing power of Water type pokemon's power by 10% to 20%.

This draws water type pokemon towards the forest. The forest also produces powerful water typed resources. Time to time the aura gets away from the concentrated region (the lake) towards the dilute region(the forest). This confuses the pokemon greatly and they start to shift continuously.
