Chapter 25: Elizas House ; Part Three
Kara shoved pancakes in her mouth delighted sitting beside Maggie, the others were in the living room chatting. "So, Maggie." The super said with a mouthful of food quickly swallowing giving the shorter woman her attention.
Maggie looked at her, "Yes Daddy DaMnvers?" She grinned wiggling her eyebrows.
The reporters face turned a crimson red and her ocean blue eyes quickly looked away embrassed. "Maggie dont say that." She mumble-whined eyeing her bacon.
The Hispanic rested her hand on the blondes thigh reassuringly. "Ok ok, what were you gonna say?" She questioned furrowing her eyebrows and tilting her head.
Kara looked back at her, "You and Alex." The edge of her lips slightly went up searching Maggie's reluctant brown orbs.
"Kara.." she shook her head, "there is nothing going on, she wants kids and I dont, we are just friends." She said confidently.
"But Magggsssss." She whined. "Why dont you want kids you two are perfect for each other, she can meet someone else today for all we know you need to make a move!!"
"Kara I hope she finds someone else who wants kids, she deserves that." She drank her water ignoring the supers pout.
"Ugh your so stubborn." She got up putting her plate in the sink glaring at the amused Maggie as she walked into the living room. "Babe I'm going to go catch up with Derick and I was thinking we could all go to the beach or something after that?" She suggested watching Alex's, Lenas, Elizas and Pearl's reaction to which they seemed to like the idea nodding their heads.
"That sounds like a great idea sweetie." Eliza smiled warmly.
"Yessss the beach sounds awesome!" Pearl jumped up shooting her fists in the air exited causing the others to chuckle.
Lena stood up walking over to Kara. "I'll walk you out." She held her hand walking to the door and the Super smiled. As they walked out of the door shutting it Lena held both of her hands giving her a worried look. "Do you think that, well maybe Derick likes you in a non-friendly way?" She asked searching her girlfriends bright blue eyes.
"Le, no we are just friends." She stepped closer cupping Lena's face in her hands softly. "And you, will always be the love of my life." She smiled leaning down capturing the Luthors lips in her own to show her she is her one and only. Lena kissed her back with her hands behind her neck pulling her closer. They slowly backed away, "I'll be back soon." She kissed her once more and walked over to the car getting in, blowing Lena a kiss and driving away to the doughnut shop.
Kara arrived to the doughnut shop and got out of the car walking inside. She looked around the tables then spotted Derick sitting alone on his phone. She hastily walked over to him, "Hey Derick!" She gave him her best dashing smile and he stood up to give her a small hug and they both sat down across from each other.
"Kara, hey I'm glad you could make it, do you want doughnuts cause I ordered alot." He said showing her his dimples, his black hair had gel in it, he did a messy look, he had short groomed facial hair as well, and chocolate eyes, hes a very handsome and muscular man.
The super scoffed, "ofcourse I want doughnuts!" She chuckled at his amused expression. "So, what's up with you? What do you do for a living?"
"I'm an FBI agent." He said in his deep voice smiling widely. "I've wanted to do it my whole life, and now it's a reality." His eyes sparkled talking about it. "I'm visiting my brother right now but I just recently moved to National city."
"Derick that's awesome! I remember you mentioning wanting to be an FBI agent a few times in highschool, my sister and friend is one as well and we happen to live in National city as well!" She said exitedly joy taking over her.
"That's awesome! Maybe we can start hanging out more, and what's your sister and friends name?"
"Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer." The waitress brought them there 12 doughnuts and milk smiling then quickly walking away.
"Hmm no I dont recognize those names, and I dont think I recognized them last night, but I did barely move there." He grabbed a doughnut happily blighting into it.
Kara giggled at him. "You have uh, a little something right there." She pointed at the edge of his lips.
His cheeks turned red and he used his napkin to clean off his mouth. "So what about you Kara? What do you do?"
"I'm a reporter." She grinned proud of herself taking another bite of her doughnut and sipping milk.
"That's amazing! I know you use to love writing as a kid so I'm not suprised, I bet your a great one." Derick smiled warmly at her.
She gazed in his brown eyes that had sun shining on them turning them a gold color. "Thank you." She felt her cheeks warm up but didnt know why and her mind instantly went to Lena, she shook it off. "So what else is going on in your life?" She drank her milk still looking at him and he sighed looking at the doughnuts in thought before shrugging and looking back at her.
"Well I've been making some friends in National city, my grandparents live by me and we have always been so close, I don't know where I would be in life if not for them. Other then that I haven't really been up to much." He messed with his hair watching Kara as she spoke.
"So no girlfriend?" She looked at him shocked.
"Hard no." He gave her a sad dry chuckle softly shaking his head.
"That's surprising." She said eyeing him and he laughed.
"Thanks Kara, I've never really been great with that kind of stuff though, I dont know why." He sighed.
"You just need to find the right person is all." She reassured him and he nodded.
After catching up Kara decided its probally time to leave so they got up and walked out of the shop. "So what are you doing for the rest of the day?" Kara asked stopping by Lena's car.
He shrugged and smiled. "Not much, how about you?"
"I'm going to the beach, you should come with me!" She said enthusiasticly.
He looked unsure. "I dont know, I dont want to intrude or anything.
"No no! You wont be I want you to come! Come one it will he great." She nudged him smiling sheepishly.
He looked down at her and smirked. "Okkk fineee." He agreed.
"Great! So do you want to meet there so you can get your shorts or do you wanna ride with me?"
"I didnt bring swim shorts so I have to go to the store to get some."
"Let's go together." She gave him a friendly smile walking to the drivers door.
"This is your car?" He asked shocked.
"No its my girlfriends." She chuckled as they got in, "She's Lena Luthor, CEO of L-corp.
"Ohhh that's why she looked familiar, that's awesome Kara! Shes done some fabulous work."
She smiled warmly and they took off to the store.
Meanwhile at the Danvers residence everyone was getting on their swimsuits, Eliza with a dark blue one peice, Lena wore an emerald colored bikini, Alex a black bikini, Maggie wore a brown bikini matching her eyes and Pearl wore a supergirl one peice.
