Pei Jiao did not respond and looked at Beike silently for a long time.
"The frown is so deep. Are you worried that I won't be able to keep my promise to bring him back to you, or don't you trust me to do what I say?"
It was an interrogative tone, as well as a self-mockery.
Pei Jiao shook her head. "I'm not worried or distrustful. I want to go."
Beike was about to say something when Pei Jiao interrupted him. "I know you won't agree. You think that I'll cause trouble if I go, but when you leave, I'll only make you worse if I follow you secretly."
Beike laughed angrily. "So you're considering my feelings?"
"Yes." Pei Jiao nodded. "Will you take me?"
Beike shook his head. "No."
Pei Jiao turned around. "Then forget it."
"You said forget it, but once I leave, you'll think of all sorts of ways to follow. Pei Jiao, oh Pei Jiao, I really owe you in my previous life."
Pei Jiao said frankly, "You owe me."
