Chapter 21: Town
After walking through the forest for hours, they finally found a small town. It was small, but peaceful from the outside but they had no idea what it would be like from the inside. So, they decided to wait until the night falls and start moving.
They were wearing clothes made of fur which would attract attention. That's why they went inside the town at midnight to avoid everyone.
Good, nobody is here now. So I can look for clothes to wear. But where?
Suddenly, a pub-like place caught his attention and he waited behind the door for a person to come out.
"What are we doing here, owner? Aren't we going to finish the next task?"
"Oh, no. Not yet. We have to change our getup first."
"I see. Is there anything wrong with the way you are dressing?"
"Everything about it it's wrong. I'm looking like a caveman who spent his whole life inside a cave."
"Technically you did spend your whole life inside a cave owner."
Does she always have to be the last person to speak?
Suddenly, a drunk man came outside with a bottle in his hand. He was spouting nonsense and walking like a wobbling cat.
"Why is he walking like that owner?"
"He is drunk. That's why. Let's follow him for now."
"I want to drink alcohol too."
"I will never work on our body so forget about it. Also, alcohol is poison. People drink it because of their addiction."
"Ew! Why would someone eat poison for fun? Humans on this planet are dumb."
Alcohol exists on every planet-_-. And people are crazy about it.
Both of them followed the man from a little distance and he entered his house without locking the door.
"Let's go in. He lives alone there."
The door was old, but it was so silent. It didn't even make a sound when they opened it.
"Owner, what are you going to do here?"
"I'm here for some clothes-_-."
He opened that man's closet and found so many outfits. So, he took one for him and one for Irosa. And they left the house by closing the door slowly.
"Here, wear this back in that alley. If you are done, call me because I have to change mine too."
"Okay!!"
Tomorrow, we have to go to a shop that buys materials from the dungeon. I don't have any money on my hand but I do have a lot of things I've collected all these years.
Those things are finally coming to use.
"Owner, I'm finished."
"Okay, my turn."
Huh! This shirt is a perfect match for me…
In the morning at 7 AM.
The town became busy as always. The shops were opening, and the smell of the newly baked bread was all over the neighbourhood, it was really a peaceful town. Kairos held her hand so that she won't get scared after seeing humans for a century-long time. She was frightened but Kairos was making her feel at ease.
"Owner, where are we going?"
"I asked a few people the whereabouts of an adventurers shop and they told me it's in this district."
"What's that?"
"It's a place where you can buy and sell products. So, we are going to sell some goods and buy some goods."
Both of them were barefoot the entire time, but not even a grind of dust was sticking to their feet as if it was covered in something invisible. When they entered the shop, they saw the owner was placing things around there.
A man with long white bread put away his broom in the corner and welcomed his first customers with a smile.
"Good morning sir. I'm here to see something."
"Oh, an adventure! How wonderful. Are you perhaps the team member who went inside a small dungeon yesterday? I heard that they came back this morning."
"No, you're mistaken, sir. I'm not an adventurer yet. I will be. So I'm here to sell something to do that."
"I see. So what have you brought along with yourself?"
"It's a small plant I found in the forest. It's so rare. I was lucky enough to carry this intact with myself."
He took out a violet small plant that looked like a small mushroom, but with branches. The man was so shocked that he almost fainted by seeing it.
"Dear son, you are really lucky. I will give you 2 platinum coins for this. And you can get yourself and your pretty girlfriend a great outfit from head to toe."
I can see his scamming face behind that smile. Since I'm not familiar with the currency here, I will just donate that plant to him with 2 platinum coins and some clothes.
"Ok, deal uncle. Come on Irosa. I have to pick a good lady's dress for you."
"But I am okay with this."
"In my eyes, it's not okay. Let's go pick some good dresses for you since we are already here."
"Hah, Okay. But let me choose my weapons."
"Yes, you can choose them all by yourself."
After buying a lot of things from the shop, he was left with 1 Platinum and 998 gold in total. Then he understood the currency.
1 Platinum in 100 gold.
1 gold is 100 silver.
1 silver is 100 penny.
One gold is enough to run a small family for a full month with 3 meals a day.
So, that plant cost more than I thought. Anyway, I found a small inn where we can stay for 1 month for 10 silver. Irosa was really surprised to see the inn and she was more surprised to taste the food.
The taste was really unique, all the ingredients I've tasted inside my mouth were new.
I guess I enjoyed myself after a long time.
"Owner, I'm so sleepy after eating all those foods."
"I know. I'm sleepy too. Let's go and sleep tonight. We will think about 'tomorrow' tomorrow."
"Yes, Dii. 'Tomorrow. Let's just sleep."
I had a long day today. Now, I want to have a long sleep for the entire day without worrying anything about anyone.
