Chapter 10: Consecutive breakthroughs and plotting against Long Hao

His body swelled slightly, and he started feeling bloated; Ye Chen's soul truly was powerful even after going through spatial turbulence.

Pitch black blood slowly seeped out of his seven orifices; it was too much qi to take in; his body quickly started to adapt and turned it into cultivation; he slowly broke through from the fifth stage body forging realm and kept breaking through.

Sixth Stage Body Forging...

Seventh Stage Body Forging...

.....

...

.

Third stage foundation establishment.

He could have made it to the golden core realm or maybe further but by doing so; he would end up with an extremely unstable foundation and also get a lot of suspicion about him after all his pills would at most get him up to his current realm.

'System how much for a disguise technique, both for my body and cultivation ?'

[Seven hundred and fifty luck points]

'Buy it.'

He had expected to be overwhelmed by information again, but it seemed that he had undergone a qualitative change when he broke through, allowing him to take in all the information easily.

He quickly disguised himself as a sixth stage body forging realm before leaving his house.

Quickly going towards his master's house, he knocked on the door and waited for a reply.

"Who is it? Hmm? It's you, good disciple do you have any questions about alchemy?"

"No, master, this disciple wanted to ask for permission to pick out a sword technique from the scripture pavilion before quietly retreating into cultivation for a while, I want to breakthrough with the pills you gave me so that I can perform more complicated alchemy in the future."

"Oh, it's just that? Go for it, but you must not forget to study as well, I'll test you after you come out of your seclusion." said his master while handing him a one-use badge to the scripture pavilion.

Leaving the scripture pavilion after picking out a sword technique named "Blood chasing sword," he decided to make his way back to his house to start his next plans.

The sword technique he had picked out had one purpose: to kill or lethally wound the enemy, eventually resulting in their death; with each kill, it would draw some blood, slowly increasing the strength of the art and also the wielders killing intent.

This swordsmanship also had its drawbacks since it barely had any defensive moves.

He decided not to use his luck points to master the technique as he believed that would put him at a disadvantage in future fights, this kind of swordplay needed to be honed through bloodshed alongside his battle experience and instincts.

Having set everything up to enter his fake retreat, he decided to take the first step against Long Hao.

'System how much for a two way teleportation talisman?'

[Five hundred luck points]

Quitely agreeing, he suddenly felt a talisman appear in his hands; he just had to think of where he wanted to travel and then rip the talisman to return.

*****

In a village in the Kingdom of Duns, one could see the smoke slowly rising from it, along with a putrid smell of rotting corpses and blood.

Broken swords lay on the ground alongside ashes and mountains of corpses strewn all over the village floor.

This village previously had a steady population of around two thousand mortals, yet nothing was left; only dead bodies that would rot and ashes would soon be blown away by the wind.

In a house that had not yet crumbled, one could see a being with horns coming out of his head with hardened skin and orange veins all over his body; Gu Lingxin was currently making nine other ghost slaves taking his count up to ten; this was the most he could do with his bloodline level.

Initially, he was hesitant to kill the villagers, but he knew that he had to for his plan to work, so he steeled his resolve and killed them; he didn't anybody to link it to him in any way, so he didn't use his sword technique.

As a foundation establishment cultivator, it didn't matter much to him; killing them with or without a technique was the same since they were mere mortals.

His resolve had almost wavered multiple times when he saw people begging, crying, and pleading, but he steeled his resolve and kept telling himself that this was the right thing to do since it could ensure his survival; eventually, he just became numb over their deaths, all that mattered was that he would rise from their ashes.

He ate half of the souls and fed the rest to his ghost slaves that he had just made.

His cultivation increased by around twenty per cent since the souls he had eaten belonged to mortals.

He had slaughtered this village because he needed more ghost slaves for his future fights, and they could also be used just as a workforce if he ever needed to do something.

If he ever needed to craft a pill or weapon or make an array with sentience, he could also use them instead.

He was also expecting his sect to find this; in fact, he wanted his sect to find it so he could hopefully draw out Long Hao and move his storyline forward.

All of his ghosts were now at rank one, which made them have more solid bodies and more durable.

After making sure nobody from the village was alive, he quietly left and headed towards a nearby ravine; looking down, all he could see was darkness; it was here where Long Hao would get thrown off and get his inheritance.

Originally in his novel, the servant disciples had gone out on a sect mission to gather herbs in a nearby forest, where they ambushed Long Hao and nearly killed him before throwing him into the ravine, which led to him awakening his bloodline and getting an inheritance.

Sending his ghost slaves into the outer areas of the forest to harvest some herbs, he started slowly scaling down the ravine.

Back at the sect, Long Hao was walking back into his servant's quarters before suddenly, he felt his hair stand on end and a deep emptiness within him as if he had lost something that belonged to him.

"Oh isn't this the hero of righteousness? What's wrong you don't look too good right now?"
