50% A Villain's Fate / Chapter 7: Joining the sect, new son of luck

Chapter 7: Joining the sect, new son of luck

They first went to pick up the other people before heading towards the sect; they travelled for a few hours on the flying swords before arriving at the sect; looking at the mountains from afar, they radiated an otherwordly charm and elegance.

Seven mountain peaks stood there, each representing one of the factions from the sect.

Xu Zan slowly controlled the swords and brought down all the recruits; there were seven people with him included; four had low-grade roots, while Gu Lingxin and the other disciple had medium-grade roots the other was Xu Zan.

Having arrived at the sect's gate, they were greeted by a of stairway leading up to the sect's main peaks, the moment they crossed the gate a highly concentrated amount of qi suddenly pushed them back slightly .

Going towards the stairs, Gu Lingxin braced himself while taking the first step, only to look like a fool when there was no pressure or anything, meaning that the stairs weren't some test of will or anything.

Getting looked at weirdly by everyone as if he was a fool, so he blushed slightly before explaining, "Sorry, in the village, there were always rumours about how the stairs at a sect will test a person's will, so I was expecting that but didn't realise the stairs were normal."

'Damn it, the novels all lied; what test of will, what bullshit?' he said while crying inwardly.

After climbing for what felt like an eternity, they finally arrived at the mountain gate; on it was a plaque with the words "Heavenly Swords Sect" just looking at it, he felt as if he was about to be pierced by thousands of swords.

"You shouldn't look too much at the plaque; the sword qi that's been left behind by our mighty ancestor over ten thousand years ago before he ascended isn't something mortals can bear, even I struggle to look at it for more than twenty seconds," said Xu Zan with a proud look; if one didn't know better, they'd think that he was the one who had written those words.

Making his way into the sect, he could see multiple people around him, some talking to their friends; some could also be seen practising their sword moves.

They first went to register themselves, so they made their way to the registration hall.

With Xu Zan around, they were quickly given their sect identification; he and the other medium-grade talent were directly assigned to the outer sect, whereas the others had to go to be servant disciples.

The sect's hierarchy was relatively simple - servant disciples, outer sect disciples, inner sect disciples, direct disciples, core disciples, elders, peak masters, and sect leader.

The hierarchy was established so that the resources were concentrated on the more talented people.

The other useless people could get in by either persevering for a few years or just taking rescources from others; in fact, the sect encouraged plundering as long as they didn't take everything from the other party.

While he was going down to the outer disciple area of the sect, he heard his system go off.

[New son of luck has been found!]

'Where is he and what is his background?'

[Here is his background and all the information that I can provide

Name:Long Hao

Race:Human

Age:15

Cultivation:Third stage body forging realm

Cultivation roots:Low-Grade(Supreme-Grade when his dragon bloodline awakens)

Bloodline: Red-Dragon's bloodline(Unawakened, Medium-Grade)

Cultivation Techniques: Nine steps of the heavenly sword

Luck:10000

Protagonist template: Long Hao, a trash disciple stuck in the body-forging realm for over eight years, gets bullied by younger people at the servant disciples' headquarters and has become their laughing stock.

He stumbles across an ancient inheritance which will awaken his bloodline; from there, he will rise and gain women, wealth, and respect; he will become highly vengeful and take revenge over the most minor of things.

He will eventually ascend into the middle realm.

He is also the main character from the novel you wrote.]

Suddenly, it all clicked; he could finally understand why he felt like many of these names were familiar to him; however, that led to another question: why didn't Mo Zhen appear in his novel?

'Why didn't Mo Zhen appear in my novel? He was a son of luck as well and could get quite far in the future, especially if he had become Ye Chen'

[Because the host caused an anomaly when your soul merged with the system and escaped from the reincarnation cycle in the netherworld, it caused Ye Chen's soul to leak out and instinctively find a host, which was Mo Zhen]

'Why did I get my memories since I was a baby and Ye Chen only got them years later?'

[Because the host had me to protect your soul from the spatial turbulence and the realm crossing, whereas Ye Chen could only follow behind]

Having cleared that up, he was pulled back to his thoughts about Long Hao; he realized why he had always felt familiar with the sect, but he never expected this world to be something he had made by writing a novel.

'Is this some sort of fake world then? Or just something like that? Since son's of luck exist does the world actually have a so called predistined fate for everyone?'

[This world isn't fake; in fact, this world has existed much longer than your previous world.

As for fate, it does, in a way, affect people's destinies; however, fate can be versatile, the world merely gives people luck, and they go from there.

However, not everything is based on luck; for example, someone born in the upper realm might have lower luck than Long Hao but still be in a cultivation realm that Long Hao could only dream of achieving.

Someone might also have only a single point of luck.

Still, it could make him lucky in a critical moment, potentially saving them or getting them some ancient inheritance.

Luck can also be gained in different manners, such as getting good worldly merit and so on; only the host can plunder luck directly]

Having understood all that, he realised that luck wasn't omnipotent, but it was still crucial to the people who possessed it; someone with luck was more likely to rise above someone who didn't.

Having cleared that up, he decided on his future plans; he chose to ignore Long Hao for a while since he knew from the novel that he would only get his lucky chance to rise up in around a month.

He didn't fully believe that everything would go the same way as in the novel, especially with Long Hao's luck intervening, so he decided to only use the novel as an outline of future events; however, he was still too powerless to change anything even if he wanted to.

Having made his mind up, he first went into the scripture pavilion to find a good cultivation technique for now.

He slowly walked towards the scripture pavilion to enjoy the scenery around him; it was something that couldn't be seen on Earth, having arrived he first saw an old man sitting behind a counter, sleeping whilst giving off a powerful smell of alcohol; not getting fooled into thinking he was just some random drunkard, he first went to greet him.

"Greetings, elder; I'm here to get a suitable cultivation technique for myself," he said while cupping his hands together and looking slightly downwards as a form of respect towards the elder.

Looking as if he were just awakened, the elder sluggishly looked upwards. "Hmm, a medium-grade cultivation root, truly a good seedling; where's your pass?"

Having handed over his one-time pass, he managed to get in without any problems; the reason he came here was that he truly knew nothing about the techniques since he never went into depth about them in his novel; having no idea where to start, he decided to rely on his system since he only had a few hours in here.

'System what's the best cultivation technique in here for me?'

[It will cost one luck point to find]

'Take it

[It's in the middle of the third shelf; it's called 'Nine Revolutions of Extreme Yin']

A bit of an info dump, but I'm trying to make it not have that many plot holes while clarifying other things about the novel world. :)
