The night engulfed the light as the moonlight paved a way for Blaze. His pupil shrunk in the darkness to adjust his eyesight. He hopped around the tiles to find the best position to enter the junk house. Fortunately, it wasn't hard since the house was trashed by the cruel weather of the north despite looking good outside.

He jumped through the window and found himself in a room full of children's toys. He scanned the area, finding nothing unusual in this pile of toys even though they were a little suspicious. He didn't think the target would be kind enough to waste her money on such useless things.

He opened the door and proceeded to the living room where the target was supposed to be at this time. His hunch was right as he saw the figure of a middle-aged woman. She was diligently sewing a plushie with a smile on her face.
Blaze quietly approached her from her back, but he was shocked to hear the woman's words.
" So, they have finally sent someone after me."
She said, putting the plushie on the table. Her smile faded away into her heart. She confronted Blaze who was still trying to figure out where he failed.
" Don't think hard, as an intelligent head officer I have gone through countless assassination attempts. You could say it is some kind of intuition."
The woman smiled, she took out a letter from her pocket and threw it to him. Blaze caught it with his hand and ripped open the seal. He quickly skimmed through the contents, confused about what was happening. He saw she was still an officer. Moreover, it said she was misguiding the enemy with her fake information and it was stamped with the royal seal.
" What does this mean? Then why do I have to kill you?"
Blaze asked, not knowing what to do in this kind of situation since it never happened to him before despite his long career. However, one thing was sure this was a trap. His mind immediately focused on the face of the woman. She was watching him with a calm demeanor and her eyes were honest. Furthermore, he could hear her heart beating normally which meant she didn't lie.
" I understand your reasoning and I will leave you here."
He said, turning his back toward her. Surprisingly, the woman grabbed his sleeves. She pushed something into his pocket and retreated.
" Leave this place, boy. It is too late for me now. The king will kill both of us if you stay here. Society knows my secret and they won't hesitate to get rid of a fallen piece. All I beg you are deliver that to the Duke Hexotia."
She spoke, foreshadowing her imminent death. To society, she was the lowest chess piece and her family didn't matter to them. They will clean everything in this house, not leaving any evidence of whether they were significant or not. They will wipe out her very existence from the face of the world.
She didn't want that. She wanted to see her children's smiles and husband's honest faces even though she would die here. That was enough reason to sacrifice herself.
Blaze saw her determination as he left the letter untouched in his pocket. He nodded heavily while leaving the room, but he was late. He felt countless existences outside the house, encircling them. Blaze returned to the room and took out his daggers.
" They are here. They must have moved early after getting my appearance. They didn't want my household to involve in their matter."
He explained to her, showing a rare serious face. The woman bit her lips with disappointment and sadness. Perhaps, her words wouldn't reach his ears today, but she would use every chance she had. The woman took out a box underneath her sofa and pulled out a silver pistol.
" You are an assassin. You are much faster than them. Please use the opening and run fast as you can. I know I would be a burden for you, so I will do what I can."
The woman pushed the table down and aimed at the door. Blaze calmly walked beside her and took the plushie that was laying on the floor.
