ISSUE #22
After being led out of the office by Emma, Ian stormed off to his room, his anger reaching out through his bond with Rahne.
" Och, dear. Something bad is happenin. I jus know it is." Rahne spoke. She walked out of her room, just in time to see Ian storming up the stairs in a fit. Ian lived on the same floor the teachers did since he used to be watched so closely.
Ian stopped when he saw the woman coming out of her room.
" Yuir angry. What is it?" Rahne asked.
Ian looked at Rahne and sighed. He didn't want to tell her because he knew she'd be worried. But if he didn't, she'd find out from someone else, and he didn't want that. He needed to be honest with her.
" The FBI is here to arrest me. Last week when I escaped, I went to an old man's house, and he was killed for taking me in." Ian explained. " They think I might have had something to do with it and in a way I did. But I did not kill him."
" I understand. What are we goin tae do?" Rahne asked.
" We? This is my problem, Rahne. Not yours." Ian replied.
Rahne glared at Ian and walked right up to him
" Yes it, is Ian. We're supposed tae be a team right. We look out for each other. Yuir problems are just as much my problems." Rahne spoke. She poked him in the chest with her finger.
" Right...." Ian replied. He could feel her concern growing with each moment. " Rahne... I don't want to fight the FBI.... But I'm never letting anyone else lock me in a cage. Not without good reason." Ian explained. " If worst does come to worst... I won't be caught easily. But I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. I'm hoping Dani and the others will figure something out." Ian explained. He didn't like it but those were his options. There was no way in hell he was gonna rot in a cell for something he didn't do.
" Och, dear. I'm sorry this is happenin. But don't worry, I know Scott and the others won't let anything happen to ye. So, let's just have faith. We'll get through this." Rahne tried to keep her man in high spirits, hoping to maybe help find some kind of peace in his already rapid life.
But deep inside she had her doubts, and Ian could it too.
" I know you're trying to help me, Rahne. But I can feel it. I know you have your doubts.... I don't know what happened to us, but... I can feel you." Ian spoke.
" And I can feel ye tae. I know yuir in pain. And I know yuir so upset. And yes, I do have me doubts. But I believe in this school and the people running it. Scott has always done what was best for us. He's always protected us. just have faith in him." Rahne explained. She grabbed Ian's hands and started rubbing them softly, to try and help him relax. " Come on, it's late. Let's just get ready for bed."
Ian took a deep sigh and just nodded.
" Yuir right. Maybe I'm just over thinking things. I'm gonna try to do some pushups and get some sleep. Maybe, it'll help me relax." Ian muttered. Ian turned to walk away but stopped. " Can... Can I sleep with you tonight?" Ian asked.
Rahne was conflicted, as a Chirstian she always wanted to wait until she was married before losing her virginity, but the wolf inside hungered for her mate. It yearned for his touch again. It called out to him, howling deep within the pits of her heart and Ian could hear it all. He could hear the eerie howl ringing in his ears, calling him forward.
" Not sex, I can feel it. You aren't too sure. Tonight, I just want to hold you." Ian spoke which made Rahne's thoughts pause for a moment. " If tomorrow does turn out for the worst, I want tonight to at least be a happy memory."
Rahne pondered the thought for a moment before reaching out her hand.
Ian smiled and took it.
Once they were hand in hand, Rahne guided Ian back into her room and closed the door behind them.
The Next Day.
Ian woke up early, he had to get back to his room to shower and get ready for the day and more importantly, he had to make sure no one saw him sneaking out of Rahne's room.
When he did open his eyes, he saw Rahne' sleeping peacefully, and could feel how at ease she was. Last night had been the first time since he got back that Ian had slept peacefully. He was happy in Rahne's embrace, her sweet scent, her soft skin pressed against his. Her warm breath on his neck. It was truly bliss. But not all would remain that way.
Ian pressed a small kiss on Rahne's lips and quietly climbed out of bed. He quickly threw on his clothes and got ready to leave. He slowly opened up the door to the room and peered out of it, looking in both directions to first make sure that no one was around. Once he was certain he slowly crept out of Rahne's room and closed the door behind him.
Ian walked down the hall, to the other side of the dorm rooms and opened the door to his room. He sighed and sat down on his bed.
" I hope everything turns out okay. It's just one thing after another isn't i? This is just gonna be the rest of my life. Running, fighting, dying, being blamed for things out of my control. Just one constant fucked up cycle." Ian couldn't wrap his head around it. Before he was mobile his life sucked but at least he was at peace. But now, that he had these gifts he could never just stop to appreciate them, because someone or something was always at his neck. Is this what he wanted?
No, but it's what he has now.
" I'll be damned if I let anyone take my happiness away."
