Liu Chaoxiao had a twin sister also called Liu Xiuying, but died in an accident when they were both young.
It happened one night when they were both coming back from a birthday party. They were on the bridge when a truck drove over, hitting their car. The car stumbled until it almost fell off the bridge.
The most unfortunate thing that happened was that the car's window at Liu Xiuying's side broke and because of how the car stumbled, she fell out of the car, falling into the river.
After Liu Chaoxiao was rescued, Liu Xiuying was nowhere to be found. The twins' parents did their best to find Liu Xiuying, even if it was her dead body, but to no avail.
It made the young Liu Chaoxiao devastated and depressed for months until he met Mo Yanlin, who became his best friend.
This current Liu Xiuying didn't have any resemblance to the Young Liu Xiuying, Liu Chaoxiao's twin sister, so it made Liu Chaoxiao think he was just imagining things.
Liu Xiuying watched as Liu Chaoxiao turned, still in a daze as he walked away. She hurriedly climbed down from the car and hastened her pace to catch up with him. "Mister? Please hold on. I don't understand what you said earlier. What do you mean by she is dead?"
The moment she said those words, Liu Chaoxiao was pulled out of his trance and he stopped dead in his tracks. He slowly turned to look at Liu Xiuying, narrowing his already darkened eyes at her. "You are Yanlin's personal assistant, right?"
Liu Xiuying was shocked at first, but nodded her head, trying very hard to recall where she knew him from. "And you are?"
Liu Chaoxiao's thin lips curled into a scornful smile as he crossed his arms on his chest, sizing up Liu Xiuying. When his gaze landed on her face that had a confused look on, he said, "I'm his childhood best friend"
Liu Xiuying's beautiful big eyes widened, surprised at his words.
She had only known Mo Yanlin for some weeks now and to her, he didn't look like someone who would keep friends. Mo Yanlin was always cold and had an aura that made him unapproachable which made Liu Xiuying think that he didn't keep friends.
Liu Chaoxiao smiled proudly upon seeing the surprised look on her face. He took a step forward, just a meter away from her. He lowered his deep brown eyes to look at her as he continued. "Yanlin has been my good childhood bestie and I know him like the back of my hand. He doesn't like women around him and I don't know what you did that made him accept you as his personal assistant, but I'm warning you, if you try trash, I'm going to personally deal with you. Of course, you are not the first woman to try to get closer to Yanlin and you are not going to be the last, but I'm telling you this right now..."
He lowered his head as he placed his lips by her ear, coldly whispering into her ear, "... You are not worthy of him"
Liu Chaoxiao's words entered her ears, making her heart tremble in anger. She raised her gaze to look into his deep brown eyes. "Mister, I know you only care about your friend, but you should also know that we women are not the same as we don't have the same thoughts. You think I became Mr. Mo's personal assistant because I have an ulterior motive, but you are wrong. I didn't choose to be his personal assistant. He made me his personal assistant and I didn't force him, so Mister, watch whatever you are going to say to me"
Every word that came out from her mouth came out with anger. She clenched her fist tightly, trying to control herself.
She had never spoken to anyone like she did just now and she felt relieved. She didn't like talking and didn't have the habit of talking back at people, but when she heard Liu Chaoxiao's words, she couldn't control her anger and said those words.
It was true that she was looking for a job urgently, but she didn't expect the big boss of a big company like PRAD to invite her to work as his personal assistant. She could not turn down the job as it was important to get her father's surgery done soon. She had thought about it several times, but still couldn't think of a reason to leave PRAD.
She didn't work in PRAD because she had a crush on Mo Yanlin and to be sincere, she was even scared of him.
Liu Chaoxiao straightened his back, looking down at the slender figure in front of him. He smiled, "Good. Very good. Remember your words today"
He said those words and turned to leave.
Liu Xiuying stared at his retracting figure in confusion. She didn't understand why Mo Yanlin's best friend was like this and she felt it was weird.
She shrugged, trying to get the matter off her mind. She walked after him to see him enter a room. She gently knocked on the door before pushing the door open to enter.
When she saw Mo Yanlin seated on the couch with his legs crossed gracefully and his arms around the couch, she said respectfully, "Mr. Mo, you asked for me?"
Mo Yanlin looked at her and frowned. He shifted his gaze from her face to look at Liu Chaoxiao and his face darkened. He saw that Liu Chaoxiao's lips were pursed, and he knew something was wrong.
"Do you want to go home? It's going to rain soon and it won't be good if you get wet in the rain" Mo Yanlin said.
Liu Xiuying knew he was talking to her, so she raised her head and looked towards the window. Seeing that it was really going to rain, she nodded her head, saying. "Yes, Mr. Mo. I think we should go home before it starts to rain"
"Okay" Mo Yanlin placed his crossed leg down, and was about to stand up when Liu Chaoxiao who saw this reached out to grab his arm and frowned, complaining bitterly. "Didn't you come here for me? Why are you leaving now? It's too early"
However, Mo Yanlin only gave him a glance and removed his hand, saying only these words. "Chaoxiao, you should go home early. Good night" He stood up and strode forward, standing in front of Liu Xiuying. "Let's go"
"Yes"
"Yanlin, you are being so unfair. I'm your bestie and not a random person" Liu Chaoxiao said angrily.
Ever since he became friends with Mo Yanlin, he had never been treated this way. Even though, sometimes, Mo Yanlin would be busy with work, he wouldn't ignore Liu Chaoxiao.
Liu Chaoxiao watched as they both walked out of the room and his eyes narrowed slightly in anger. He muttered as he gritted his teeth. "Liu. Xiu.Ying"
In his heart, he made a mental note about that name and he made a cross over it.
He wasn't going to let this matter slip away that easily.
