<Hey System, didn't I just choose to be the protagonist one?>
<Yes, Host.>
<And, why would the protagonist being chased away like that? I nearly committed suicide there!> Rei complained.
<Do you aware of who you are?>
<Yes, an infamous warlock, that has killed 700 people. What kind of protagonist is it! If not for his sorcery, I would have died jumping from that height!>
"Master, this apprentice finally found you."
A soft maiden voice distracted Rei's protest to the System. The person in front of Rei opened the veil and showed a beautiful face. A young woman, not more than 17 years old, stood before him. Her long eyelashes fluttered adorning his sharp eyes. Her high cheeks were flushed.
Rei opened his mouth, then shut it again. He still heard the commotion from above the cliff, and decided to hide for now. Understanding the situation, the young woman pulled Rei towards the nearby land.
"I have a house that is hidden in the depth of this forest. We can hide there, for now."
The young girl then walked first to show the way. She moved nimbly like a feline.
Meanwhile, Rei was left behind a distance. The wet robes hindered his movement.
"Master, are you okay?" She looked behind and returned towards Rei who were still struggled with the long robe.
"I'm good. I'm good. Don't worry."
The girl retracted her hands.
"What is your name?" Rei asked. He dug in the owner memories, and he didn't have any recollection about this young woman.
"I'm Achlys, the daughter of Sedit. I'm ready in your service." She introduced herself while bowing his head.
Rei remembered Sedit. His old friend who was died in a war with the Earthian Kingdom 18 years ago. Rei sighed in grief.
"I'm sorry for your father."
"My father would be honored to die for freeing our people." She still bowed.
Rei patted her shoulder. "Let's go then."
She stood straight and led the way into the depth of the forest. The lush trees in front of them crisscrossing the land, with no path to be seen. Rei glimpsed some red eyes watching them from afar. Unconsciously he took a step back.
"Is something matter, Master?"
"Nothing, really." Rei tried to maintain his composure.
"I've planted some spells to ward off intruders. Human won't be able to access our hiding place."
She snapped her finger and a row of trees moved aside, opened a small path that appeared out of nowhere. Rei gawked in amazement.
<Host, you are the stronger warlock in this land. Please maintained your image in front of this apprentice.>
<Excuse me, I've never witnessed something so magical right in front of my eyes. So, let me gawked in peace.>
The open pathway lead to a ruined castle. He wonder whose castle it is. Just as they walked through the trees, the entrance sealed shut. He looked back in awe.
The walked was in silent.
Just as they stood in front of the gate, Rei could see clearly about the ruined castle. The rusty iron gates were broken here and there. The wild woodbine plants covered nearly the whole walls.
She opened the gate and turned towards Rei.
"After you, Master."
Rei walked down the path towards the gates. However, as he stepped into the dying garden, a big cage appeared out of nowhere, trapping Rei.
A wicked laughter could be heard.
"You warlock! Finally, I caught you! Your Majesty would be happy to meet you!"
Rei stood in silence. Hands crossed on his chest.
"Why would you do this?"
"Because I hate you! You are the caused of my father death! I would never forgive you!" She shouted with contempt.
"And don't you tried to escape. I used my father's spell to nullified any magical sorcery that was used within this cage. You won't be able to break through!"
Rei nodded his head.
"I thought so."
<Host, we are being deceived. What should we do now?>
<Just wait for the plot development for now. Anyway, I don't think she would kill us. For now, at least.> Rei watched the mad girl patched back and forth.
<Why would you think so, host?>
<Remembered your rules. We players cannot hastily kill each other, unless instructed so.>
<What if she is the one with the task to kill you?>
<Then I should have been died by now. She got so many chances before.>
"Hey Achlys" Rei called the girl. She abruptly stopped and turned towards Rei. He sat with crossed legs in the cage.
"Your father went to the war proudly. Even when I stopped him, he won't budge." Rei stopped and stared into her eyes.
"I'm sorry he passed away before you were born."
Just as she opened her mouth, a thunderous steps could be heard. The earth was shaking. Rei looked up and saw a massive stone giant walked towards them.
"There you are." The giant growled.
As soon as it nearing them, it put its big hand down towards Rei.
<Does it want to smash me?>
Rei could feel an impending doom nearing.

"What do you think about these characters design?"
"I pitied them."
"Yeah, they could never be together. Just like the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl."
