Chapter 6: Magic (Rewritten)
My hold of her was strong, letting her know that I won't let go until I got my answer, but when I felt something wet fall on my forearms, I wasn't able to keep her like this.
I realized what it was, and my grip loosed on its own, with my brain not proccessing what just happened.
This lack of resistance didn't go unnoticed by Amelia, who broke free and ran away with tears being the last thing that could prove her stay here.
I stood there defeated, only staring at the open door
(She needs more time.)

In Amelia's room
Amelia throwed herself at the bed, and hugged her pillow, which soon turned wet from tears.
While doing so, she was saying to herself. "Why? Why? Why? Why did I ran away?"

After going downstairs, I looked at the table, in seek of one person, but like I suspected, she wasn't there.
My mood wasn't the best when I greeted Olivia and Mira, I was simply sad.
Throughout the whole breakfast nothing major happened, I chatted with Olivia and from time to time teased Mira, which let me improve my mood.
Few minutes later, Amelia also appeared and walked over to the table without looking at me even once. (Considering that she didn't stay in her room, I can say that I'am on a good path to success.)

Done with the breakfast, I returned to my room, and decide to take off my bandage, to inspect my injuries.
"They are gone... How did they heal so fast?"
(Seems like I won't be able to guess even if I wanted to.) while shaking my head, I chose [World Hopping] and routine continued.
At this point my appearance in Kingdom of Udela wasn't anything special.
But there was one thing left to do, before I could say with confidence that I completed all of my preperations. (My last gift.)
I took it out of my inventory, showing why the 'Shadow Blade' armor wasn't just a simple piece of cloth, it was dark as night, like a shadown in the middle of day. For a while, I wasn't even sure if it was in front of me.
"Out of those 3 gifts, I think this one is the most important."
I put it on and turnes out it fits perfectly, like a glove. "Now my chances of survival increased tremendously."
With my last piece of equipment on me, I could finally focus on the rest of my goals.
First thing I wanted to do was magic training, but before it could take place, I needed to choose the element I want to practice.
This choice wasn't that easy, but thankfully I had Alexander's memories, to guide me in this process.
I began thinking, while considering what I already knew.
The main question that I asked myself, was what specific element I want to practice. I could pick fire, water, air or earth, which were as people call them 'basic' types of magic.
Thruth is that there are no such things as 'basic' types of magic. Every single person have affinity to use different types of magic, some are good at fire magic and others on blood magic.
In Alexander's world they're often compared to someone's talents.
Most of the human race has highest affinitys in thoes 4 basic elements, and this is why they got this title.
If you want to ask if other races also have their own 'basic' elements, then yes, they do. With a easiest example being Angels and their counterparts, Dark Angels, the first race weilds light magic and the second race weilds dark magic.
Each and every magic type isn't exactly stronger or weaker than the other, but some can take more time to master.
For this exact reason I want to choose one of thoes elements. Without any prior magic knowledge, my chances of successfully grasping at least the basics are higher.
Recalling all I know, I decided to practice the earth magic.
Earth magic possess very good defensive and slightly worse offensive capabilities. There's also one aspect that helped me in this choice, Earth magic makes body of its user stronger.
The reason why it's happening is because of how earth magic users cast their spells. They often need to gater big amounts of mana in their body's to make their spells more powerful or to even execute them.
For example one of these spells is earthquake. To use this spell you need to first gater mana in your arms or legs, and then punch or stomp the ground.
This limitation disappeared when you reach high enough proficiency in this type of magic.
Other elements also have their own limitations, such as Water magic users creating only limited amount of water, Lightning magic users sometimes not even being able to generate strong enough lightning to stun their enemies.
There's a lot of other examples, but that's not important for now.
(I wonder what are my affinities?..Hmm... Looks like I will have to find out for myself.) after calming down, I again gone through every step I need to take.
I sat down in meditation position and closed my eyes. (I need to focus and 'feel' the element I want to discover.... Whatever that means.)
Me sitting there, left me with no other choice, that to think about the meaning of those words. (Feel the element...Hmm... Earth...)
I lasted in this state, until a long time have passed, and I got (Nothing.)
With no idea what to do, I opened my eyes. "What does it mean to 'feel' the element?"
Surprisingly, looking around mindlessly, let me notice something.
Earth it's all around me, in small rocks, in mountains, in sand, in dirt.
After this realization, I picked up a rock laying beside me. I had no idea if I was correct, but while holding it in my hand, I decided to inject some mana in it.
And soon enough, I discovered something, rock interior contained brown in color energy.
This discovery excited me, reasulting in new ideas appearing in my head. But I chose the simplest approach, I touched it with my own mana, immediately learning what it was.
It was my path to practice Earth Magic.
When thoes two energies combined, something unexpected happened.
This brown energy or I should rather say brown mana, gathered together and like a huge wave started to flood my whole body from the inside.
I didn't know what was happening, and worst of all I couldn't stop it, no matter how hard I tried.
After my whole body was filled with this brown mana, it's again began to accumulate, this time in my abdomen.
It wasn't long, before it took its new form, as a ball of energy.
The moment this ball formed, it began its new change, splitting itself in two bullets made of pure mana, that shot into my heart and my brain.
Those two separate flows of mana flew like a wind, and quickly reached my two main organs. Their colision made an impact that transformed into new scenes, that I never seen before.
I saw how Earth mana flows through the ground, it's impenetrable defence, how it creates and also how it destroys.
The thing I will never forget was a mountain, the biggest mountain I've ever seen. This mountain was standing tall and unmoved by anything.
I don't know how, but I knew it was standing like this from the moment it was created, and will stand like this to the end of time.
And just when I thought this was everything, I heard a female voice.
"You're a very interesting human. I hope you will use this gift well and maybe some day you will be able to met me, but in the meantime.... What is that? You are..."

As I regained my consciousness back, I didn't exactly know what happened.
(I only remember the way earth magic works and something...nice?..I can't recall.)
It's not really surprising considering that everyone's awakening of the element is special.
It's always different, with each awekening being sometimes the most common things, like swiming, to more extreme and bizare cases, like getting set on flames. The only thing that stays consistent is meditation, the rest is more complicated, and you can wonder how can someone meditate while burning alive, well its more abot meditating in your life, not in the exact moment.
No one can describe how it varies, but at least now I know how to 'feel' at the basic stage.
Then I noticed that world around me looks different, but at the same time it looks the same.
Not able to pin point what changed, I stopped thinking about it and checked my system.

"Now I only have one thing left to do. I need to use this magic for the first time."
After gathering mana in my hands, I put them on the ground and started to cast.
At first I tried an easy thing, to move some rocks, and just as expected, without a slightles issue I did it pretty much immediately.
(Let's try something more challenging.)
Gatering even biger amount of mana wasn't so easy, but I send it in every direction, and soon enough I achived a desired resul.
Ground around me being to shake slightly. "This spells is harmless at this stage, but later..."
