Chapter 06
Even though he was still in pain from the beating he received a few days ago, Hiro didn't skip his training sessions. The remaining time was already over and the mission was successfully completed, but Hiro felt that it would be worth continuing with this type of training for a little longer.
The rewards he received gave a considerable boost to Hiro's abilities. He was sure of this after testing his swordsmanship, previously Hiro had difficulty making even a basic movement with his sword, but now he felt he could swing it exactly the way he wanted.
— I wonder how long it will take for me to gather enough points to buy my first breath... — Hiro thought as he stared at the system screen, displaying the values of each breath and the all points he has.

— I have no idea which one I should focus on getting first. — Hiro thought. There were several different breaths and he was almost sure that each one had great potential to be used, but he didn't know how long it would take to gather enough points to buy just one, and he didn't even want to imagine how many years it would take to buy it. all, maybe even die before I could even buy two. — However, it's still too early to consider giving up or getting discouraged. — Hiro said, with a slight smile of excitement.
Feeling more motivated, Hiro returned to the shelter and the group began to prepare for their next tent raid. Their supplies were almost gone, and they couldn't keep stalling any longer. After walking for a few minutes, they reached the third nearest town. As much as they walked further, they were still afraid that someone would follow them and find their hiding place in case they stole somewhere very close to it.
— Today we have to be efficient, our supplies are at their limit and we can't afford to steal just one stall, so we'll do it this way: The three of you will distract the merchants and then I'll steal. — Hiro said, but unlike his usual way, he used a more authoritative tone, as if he was ordering them instead of just suggesting that they do.
— Wait! Why will you be alone with the hardest part? It's too risky! — Yahiko replied. He knew that Hiro was the strongest among them, there was no doubt about that, but he feared that he would not be able to handle it alone, after all, any stumble will be enough for Hiro to be seen and the group to end up being chased by the traders.
— I'm the fastest among us and I have complete confidence that I'm the stealthiest, you'd only get in my way if you tried. We can't get caught stealing at all, or else the merchants will be even more vigilant and it will be much harder to keep stealing around here. — Hiro said.
He knew his words sounded rather harsh, but he couldn't afford to be flexible right now. As much as he was in a child's body, his mind was still that of an adult and he had to take responsibility as such, he didn't want to see these four sleep hungry while they were living together.
The others said nothing more and just nodded. They knew Hiro's words were sensible and true and they could only hold back their frustration for now.
The plan went as planned, Hiro's movements were agile and effective, not wasting a second and giving no chance of being noticed. The group managed to loot a total of 5 merchants and filled all the bags they brought with them.
Everyone was shocked by Hiro's actions, they didn't think he was so good at hiding and taking things without anyone noticing. Hiro was compared to a ghost because he took the food so quickly and discreetly, that no one suspected his presence.
Upon entering the hideout, the children could not contain their excitement and quickly removed all the food. His eyes sparkled at the variety of things they got this time, there was even some meat wrapped in cloth, something quite expensive to buy in Amegakure.
— You're too much Hiro-san! — We sure as hell won't go to bed hungry for at least a few more weeks! Isn't it Chibi?! — Nagato said, with a lot of excitement in his voice.
*WOW WOW*
— Let's save the praise for after we eat, I'm almost fainting from hunger! — Yahiko replied, while her belly emitted loud sounds similar to a snore.
The children could not contain themselves and began to eat hastily, as if it were their last meal. Because they got more food than they expected, they could see that it wouldn't hurt to eat a little too much for a single meal.
After they were completely satisfied, laziness and fatigue took hold and they quickly fell asleep happily.
The next day, Hiro was the first to wake up again and would repeat the same training routine as the last few days. However, an unexpected guest appeared seconds later.
— What are you doing up at this hour, Konan? Couldn't sleep well? — Asked Hiro, he already suspected the reason, but still decided to confirm her intentions.
— Can I train with you, Hiro-san? — He replied, with a shy and anxious tone. She feared that in the future she would become an even greater burden on others, so she decided for herself that she would try to become stronger, even if it was just a little longer.
— Of course, but only under certain conditions.
— Which? I will do everything in my power! — Konan replied, increasingly determined.
— You will obey all instructions I give you without disobeying them, and you will have to attend all training sessions without missing any. I can make you more able to survive, but that will depend entirely on your efforts to do so. replied Hiro.
He feared that because Konan was still a child, he would give up completely halfway through just because he found it too difficult. Hiro really wanted these kids to become strong enough that their lives wouldn't be thrown to fate.
Konan readily agreed to the terms and Hiro wasted no time. On a base, Konan would do similar training to Hiro, but with some changes in the amount of repetitions and removing the push-ups. Konan had never trained before, so she needed to adapt both physically and mentally.
As much as Hiro was still in this young body, his mindset was strong enough to not give up on his training, even if he was in severe pain and it still took several hours to complete it. However, Konan may not be able to do that.
Even with a little difficulty, everything went as planned and Konan finished before Hiro, but decided to sit and wait for him. Soon they both finished their respective training and returned inside the hideout. Yahiko and Nagato were still sound asleep, while Chibi was already awake and excited.
— Those two…how can they be so lazy and let a little girl be more devoted than they are? — Hiro thought, sighing as he thought about the future problems he still had to face.
