Chapter 20: Pain
Eris patted both boys. To see their handsome faces, she needs to use her ability a little bit.
"Benedict, Kaiden. Next time, don't sneak out of the mansion. Okay? Wait for me and I will come to both of you." She held their small hands. "I don't want you to be in danger because of me." She whispered.
"Okay, but you, play every day?" Kaiden asked to make sure.
"Horses! Visit horses." Benny said.
Kaiden giggled.
"Benny had twelve horses."
"Oh, you do?"
"I name Bobo, Coley~~" He continued naming the horses he owns and it exceeded twelve. Benny looked at his fingers, puzzled on why it didn't count to twelve. Eris couldn't help but to giggle and admire them. It was just in time when the door opened as Eris faced the door.
"Gray? Is that you?" Eris asked. No one answered.
"Mama!" Benny exclaimed as Johanna approached Eris and bent down to her.
"So, Eris. Are the boys giving you a hard time?"
She didn't know why Johanna was sneaky like this. But she sat on the bed as Benny quickly crawled to him. She heard kisses from Johanna while Benny was giggling.
"No. They are too adorable to give me a hard time." She said,
"Good. I just took off from work early to see my baby boy."
Eris smiled.
"Where is your sister?" Johanna asked him.
"She~~imenmen." Benny answered.
"What does he mean by that?"
"Oh," Johanna chuckled. "He meant that Quinn is investing or something. That girl knows how to earn money. But she won't stop asking for money from her grandma."
Eris gaped and never thought that a girl would have so much money.
"She already has millions of savings, I think. Plus, the allowance that her deceased grandpa gave her. My Papa. It went straight to her with real money although it was a small amount. She was happy."
"I wonder what Quinn plans on saving so much money."
Johanna hugged her baby boy and kissed the top head.
"She just gave a few to her cousins and treated them to something. Then, if she wanted some changes in her room, she would get it by telling her father that she has money and she'll pay. We don't take her money though. We sent it back to her account."
"She will be very rich when she grows up."
"I bet she will."
Johanna stared at Eris through Benny. She wanted to know more about her. About her pain, about her real life now. She didn't tell them much about her family. But she said that her parents are dead and she only got a friend. Where could that friend be?
"By the way, we will have a family dinner in two days since Harvey has to go back home. We need to meet your friend. You should ask her to come over."
Her eyes were suddenly downcast. She shook her head as she pressed her lips.
"I'm sorry, but she can't go. It's been a while since she's with me."
"Hmm, why?" Johanna wanted to get more info. But looking at her expressive face, she knew well that something was off.
"She's far from here. She's not in this country."
"So, who was taking care of you? Before Gray?"
"I was fine in the hotel. They were supportive. Also, my Condo unit is still ongoing so…"
"That's fine. I am glad that you are with us. Gray won't be sad since his kids are in boarding school. Besides, he's enjoying himself."
Eris was speechless. She didn't know what to say. She's not a talker that much but, Johanna was nice. She's the one who set her up with Gray. She said that she will be a perfect blind date for her Uncle. At first, she thought that Uncle~~means older than Gray. Around fifty years old. But she was wrong. She was nervous at that time. She thought that her family was selling her off to be twenty years older than her.
"Thank you for letting me meet Gray. He's the kindest person that I ever met."
"She's not that kind." Johanna chuckled. "He's in love with you."
Eris fidgets on her fingers.
"I don't think that he's in love with me. Can someone fall in love easily?"
"Yes. You don't know the fate."
The door opened as Gray eyed Johanna and mouthed at her about what she was doing here early. She only smiled while snuggling with her baby boy.
"Darling, I got your favorites." He placed it over the table. "Now, the kids can leave."
"Ice cream," Kaiden exclaimed and started jumping on the bed.
"Gray," Eris tilted her head. "You can't make them leave."
Gray looked at Johanna and mouthed her to take the kids away because they are going to make out. But Johanna simply ignored him and let the kids have those ice cream. He has to take her girl off the bed to the sofa. He prepared her favorite ice cream and he sat beside her while the two were waiting for Johanna to give them their cup.
"I can feed you." Gray grinned.
"Nope. I am fine." She couldn't help but keep grinning as Gray continued to flirt with her.
"No, baby. I will feed you. I insist. We can play flavor games."
She was puzzled for a bit but she shook her head.
"No!" Kaiden throws a pillow at Gray. "Eris, mine!"
Johanna smirked as she watched Kaiden try to beat up Gray but since Gray is strong and an adult, he can just hold Kaiden's head while the boy is trying to punch him.
"Don't mind him." Gray smiled at Eris.
A knock on the door interrupted them but then Gray continued bullying the boy. The door opened and Dione rushed inside. She stopped upon seeing Kaiden being bullied by Gray. She quickly ran to Gray and pulled away her brother.
"Baddie!" Dione scolded him.
"I'm sorry, Princess but your brother was trying to steal my girl."
"Baddie!" Dione said again and patted the crying Kaiden. Eris smacked Gray right on the thigh.
"Don't do that to him."
Gray looked at Kaiden.
"Sorry, kid."
Kaiden hugged her sister and pointed to Gray. MJ was holding her laugh upon entering the room and pushing the triplets stroller.
"Baddie!" Dione was being a big sister protecting her baby brother.
"I'm sorry, Princess. I'm sorry now, okay?"
"Hmph!" Dione rolled her eyes at him. Gray looked at MJ who only eyed him while her daughter was being an antagonist in his love story.
"Kaiden, I'm sorry. Okay?"
Kaiden sniffled and instead of taking his apology, he climbed up to Eris's side and hugged her. They knew well what Eris did. She hugged the boy and gave her ice cream to him. The boy finally smiled as he fed Eris.
"Don't cry, okay?" She said softly.
"No. Cry."
Gray sighed as he looked at Johanna and MJ, waiting for them to defend him but they just laughed at it. He caresses Eris's hair while she's coaxing Kaiden. She just wanted the boy to be happy but the boy insisted on feeding her ice cream. The two enjoyed eating like they were the only people in this world. He's already jealous but what can he do?
At six in the afternoon, the boys finally left with their parents. Kaiden gave her a lot of kisses as well as Benedict before leaving. He was finally happy that they left. So, he sat beside her and snuggled with her.
"Where do you want to go after your blood test tomorrow?" He asked.
"Anywhere." Eris hugged him. "I'll go anywhere with you."
Gray kissed her top head.
"Good, because we are going to spend our days dating, getting to know each other, and preparing for our wedding?"
She froze as she gently pushed herself from him.
"What?"
"You said that you wanted to marry me. I don't care if it'll take years but we will get to it. But all I know is that you are the only one that I wanted to marry."
"O-okay…" she mumbled. "But Gray, are you sure?"
"Yeah," he said without hesitating. "Now, I want that kiss." He bent down as he reached her chin. She gasped as she moved her head back.
"Wait," She pressed her hand against his chest.
"Oh, baby. I've had enough suspense."
She giggled as she raised his hand to his neck.
"No. It's just, that I haven't brushed my teeth."
"It doesn't matter." He grinned as he pulled her back. Eris didn't hold back. She closed her eyes ready for whatever that kiss was. She can feel him getting closer and closer. Closing the space between them. She can feel his breath, it was a minty, woody scent… it was sexy. She closed her eyes hard since she had never been kissed before.
"Hello!" The door burst open that startling both of them. Gray glared at the man who entered. Leon gaped.
"Ops, sorry." He was about to close the door.
"Get in. What the hell do you want?" Gray asked, keeping his arms around Eris.
