CHAPTER 14
"You think?" Mike remained apathetic. "And why are you empathetic about her? Do you like her?" Mikel shot him an accusing look.
"Ahh' cut that crap, you know very well that am married and very much in love with my wife, remember?, if anyone is to answer that question that should be you,Mk. I think k if you like her, you should just go ahead and tell her that ,instead of trying to keep her here longer than necessary. You are being selfish and abusing your power of being her captor" Ahmad suggested.
"And who says that i like her?" Mikel raised a brawl.
"Isn't it obvious you are acting like it?"
"Hold that thought"
"Then do you have a better explanation for why you are doing this? I mean, am sure that you have never met her before. Listen, we have been friends for years and i know you better than anybody else because we had become closer than blood. I know when you are on self denial and this is one of it...., doe this is the first time am seeing you do this concerning a woman".
Mikel was about to reply when one of the men, Tuga approached. "Boss". He said to Mikel after acknowledging Ahmad.
"What is it?" Mike asked without looking at Tuga.
"We are in need of sanitary pad" Tuga replied"
"For whom?" Mike asked, it was not the first time a female abductee would ask for sanitary pad. He was pretty aware of it.
"Isn't Sandra in charge of the toiletries? Why are you coming to me ?" Mike questioned, displeased that he had to be interrupted for something that is trivial.
"Because she needs pain killers too. She's having a severe pain cramp" Tuga answered, looking concerned.
Mike looked up now at Tuga because that had got his interest. They had never been in need of painkillers until now and sending one of his men into town to get that was too big a risk to take.
"Which of the women is in her period?" He finally spoke after a slight pause.
"The yankee lady, she's been groaning in pain for the past one hour. It's almost as if she might pass out. I must confess that i never knew that periods can be this horrible to some women".
"And it took you long to say something?" Mikel's tone went a notch up now. Why would you live any woman in pain for that long?, have you no common sense, Tuga ?". Mikel sounded displeased now, he rose to his feet, ducked and stepped out of meeting room. "Sandra!" He called aloud and heard one of his men who had heard him from Afar telling Sandra that her attention was needed.
Sandra soon approached with a scowl on her face. She was obviously still mad by being turned down last night and he didn't care and he knew that even if she chose to put up attitude forever, he still wouldn't care. "What?!" She asked with a terse tone and angry pout.
"Are there still Sanitary pad in your possession?" Mike asked, ignoring her tone.
"Yes, what?" She remained hostile.
"Dorathy is in her period, go get some sanitary pad please". Mikel said as politely as he could since he knew that Sandra was definitely looking for the easiest opportunity to lash out at him. When Sandra started to turn to wake away, Mike added. "And she's in pain, is their a trick you can do to relieve her ?".
Sandra turned partially and shot him a glare over her shoulder. "And when did i became a nurse? Or is she the first woman to experience menstrual cramps? What is so special about her? This is a thing that almost every woman experience. The pain will only last a day or two. I think she is only acting up to get some attention. Beside, this is a kidnapping camp not a pampering one! I don't even understand what is going on with this operation anymore" she shut, turned and left. Soon, she turned with a few folds of virony sanitary pads and handed it over to Tuga. "go and give it to her, she won't die! Its just menses!" She said apathetically and left.
Mikel watched her go then said to Tuba. "Bring her to my hut".
Ahmad and Tuba stared at him in surprise because he had never shared his hut with any one not to talk of a captive. "Boss you say?" Tuga asked to be sure he heard him right the first time.
"I said, Bring-her-to-my-hut let her change and rest there." Mike stated without another word, Tuga turned and left to carry out his Mikel's order.

Mikel watched Dorathy.....
She was asleep in his mattress but she would occasionally groan in her sleep and toss and turned but he noticed that she never really laid on her back, perhaps, probably from the fear of getting stained. He sat on the floor, his back against the wall adjacent to the mattress and his knees up.
He had watched her sleep for the past forty minutes but her sleep hadn't been the slightest bit peaceful. He was tempted moving out to buy some aspirin himself but he knew moving out by such hour wasn't a good idea. It was dark already, not that he was scared of anything, but going in and out of camp wasn't a good idea; some one could follow any of them one day.
When he couldn't watch her wallow in pain anymore; he decided that he had to apply the only alternative of solution he knew. He rose from his spot but instead of standing up fully, he moved towards the bed and sat at the edge of it. He removed his leader fingerless hand glove.
She made her lye on her back not failing to notice she was wearing a shirt and pair of shorts. Taking up the end of her shirt to under her boobs, he reached for her button and opened her short then he zipped it down. After parting the zipper open, he reached for the waistband and pulled down her shorts a bit together with her panties, just above her pelvic area.
He didn't fail to notice the fine strips of pubic hair that rose towards her belly button but this is certainly not the time to be a pervert. Rubbing his hands together for a minute to generate enough heat, lifted her hair up and placed it on his laps, while she groans in her sleep, she never woke up.
Gently, he placed his hand on her lower abdomen and began to rub it to ease her pain. It took some minute of gentle but consistent rubbing of her abdomen to finally make her relax in her sleep since he kept the spot warmth with his hand. Soon, she stopped groaning and fell into a peaceful deep sleep.
He however didn't stop to soothe her and he fell asleep that way, leaning his head and shoulders against the wall.
