Chapter 7: Fire
The next day when Blush had been woken up, she made her way through the house and started packing many things into a bag ranging from different tools and books that she had not yet read and she had found useful.
She had also collected many ingredients for alchemy so that she could begin practicing right away. "It has been four years since I have even touched anything related to my past profession. How refreshing that I now have much room for experimenting. A new world full of new possibilities. This time I will not rush things and be so reckless."
Another bag of things that she could not carry was moved outside as she manipulated her mana and lifted them out.
Her use of her mana was done carefully but it was still very inefficient in terms of how much she was wasting to perform such a simple feat.
Her body strength was even weaker than the average four year old child due to how she had lived her life previously even if she did eat well but she was able to manage the task of moving the bag of items as she found a safe location to stash them.
After she put them somewhere safe, she picked up her backpack and put it on her back.
After a little modification to one of the knives that the old witch had, she had attached it to a stick as long as her body and had secured the knife at the top.
She used the stick to help her securely walk away as a fire had spread within the house that she had left behind which had burned the home of the old witch and her remains.
The small four year old Blush was dressed in clothing that wrapped around her body and face as she had looked like an ordinary traveller but she had not moved too far away from the previous location.
She ended up by a nearby swamp where there were many frogs, fish and bugs around so she had decided to stay there. "I need to work on recovering first and studying will be essential for my recovery so this is a good place for that."
Although there were many plants and herbs that were deeper in the forest area, there were also greater dangers that would appear so she had to focus on her recovery and not take any risks.
Using the knowledge from her previous life, she was able to use her magic to build a small home for herself and set some small traps.
The home of the witch had been discovered due to the smoke that had risen and those that had came to check over her status had shown a look of relief as those that knew of her had feared her due to her hatred of humans.
Although she was a human, she was still born with the ability use use magic and that separated her from her family early on.
She was sold off for a cheap price to a witch who had discovered her talents which had made her family relieved to be rid of her, later in life her master had died and passed on the teachings and hatred of humans to her which had further warped her desire for power.
It had gone so far that she had been seeking to gain more mana through other means so that she could hurt the many humans, for her goals she had even started rationalising that it was better for those with magic abilities to die early rather than live a life of suffering and loneliness so she was able to convince herself that what she was doing was fair.
She removed the mana from the bodies of those she had taken in from others and those she had found on her travels so that she could gain more power.
Those with magical potential had been drained of their power and they lost their lives because of the draining spell cast on them which she had named mana draining touch.
During the later years of her life, she had become even more greedy and cruel as she started to enjoy the feeling of taking from others.
There had been some missing children in the area but the bodies had mysteriously disappeared, with her growing power there was no room for ordinary humans to possibly deal with her in an age without more advanced technology or martial arts so they had to put away their suspicions and hope that the witch did not leave her area again.
The main issue with draining type spells is that they allow growth through others sacrifices, those that use such spells may first hesitate to use it but once they had, they would start to like the feeling of having instantaneous growth without having to improve themselves through hard work.
If such a person who had grown very powerful in that way, those that had stolen someones body or lived as a parasite within a body and had taken over had appeared in front of a God of Destruction then they would be killed without hesitation because they will only bring harm to the universe and its overall development.
Certain rules were in place and each person had their roles to play, even good and evil could be ignored in each universe often due to those individuals not getting on the bad side of the gods, angels, Supreme Kai and Zeno.
After the death of the old lady had been confirmed within the ruins, many had rejoiced at the fact that they would no longer have to remain vigilant when she was around or when they left their village to go hunting.
Meanwhile a small child had been living peacefully by a swamp area and had been extra careful as she set many traps and collected materials to build herself some better tools for her research.
A little later, she had moved a large cauldron and many other things that she had stored away from the witches house and she had started learning the basics of mana, shapeshifting and alchemy.
Alchemy was well suited to her previous field of study and she had some foundation in the knowledge she had gained from Dr Gero so she was able to learn it quickly and learn the principles behind it but she still needed time, resources and experimentation to be able to develop her own achievements.
The achievements of the witch in terms of alchemy were not very high as there were only different types of recipes for tonics, poisons and a couple of other weird potions that had side effects but it was enough for her to learn from and advance her own knowledge.
Blush had started her new life finally after living four years under great pressure and enduring the miasma in her body, she was finally free and she couldn't be happier.
She was so happy that she had been able to quickly forget that she had taken a life during the first four years in her new life when she had previously never done such a thing in her past life with her achievements in biology and chemistry.
Although she could not replicate her previous achievements as her previous serum was made from a very rare ingredient that had been newly discovered on earth, she was aware that the world contained many magical things that could be used as ingredients which would make things possible that were not even considered to be possible to be made in her previous world, at least in her generation.
