Ultimate cooking skill!

Yulong frowned, wondering who would blatantly call his food rubbish like that.

Although it would make the smallest bit of sense if they came to this restaurant regularly and were used to the food's usual quality, then perhaps it would make sense that they did not enjoy Yulong's cooking.

Yulong followed the waiter through the door where a man waited, looking angrily at his bowl of noodles. He was red in the face, and he drew all the attention of the room to him and his bowl of noodles.

This man had long red robes and a short beard. He had a face that seemed to remain irritated, as his face got redder when he jabbed his chopsticks toward Yulong. "You! Are you the chef who cooked these disastrous noodles?"

Yulong nodded. "Yes. I'm new here." Yulong said with a respectful and mild tone of voice. It wouldn't reflect well on him if this restaurant got a 1-star review.

"Well, you better improve your quality before I give this restaurant the first bad rating it's had in years! I can't believe they let someone of your caliber here!"

Yulong frowned but simply nodded to this. Hao Peng surely would not be happy later...

Yulong ignored the whispers from people- they were just distractions.

Once the issue had been resolved, Yulong made his way back to the kitchen. While everyone else was handling the important and serious dishes, Yulong was getting the easier and simple ones, from people with no reputation.

Although Yulong's cooking improved with each order, he was not cooking up to par, which led Hao Peng to call Yulong to his office.

"Ao Bing, I see you have been trying to cook to the best of your ability." Hao Peng said with a smile, although to Yulong it was more of a threat as he sat down.

"Would you mind telling me how you learned to cook?"

"I learned from a book called, 'You want to be a chef?'"

Hao Peng waved his hand, almost instantly dismissing the book. "Oh, that decent cooking manual? Its... Acceptable. Although, it seems to me you did not receive the cooking technique all my employees do..."

Hao Peng then summoned a book from his Storage Ring, before handing it over to Yulong.

<The Broad Cooking Technique>

<Mysterious - High>

<A mysterious book that holds all cooking arts within it. Read and you will gain a unique cooking style.>

Seeing this, Yulong slightly smirked. This was because broad techniques were extremely hard to come by and had unprecedented value. The fact was that if one could have their own unique style, no one else would be able to comprehend it unless the individual was willing. If he comprehended this and then sold it...

As if sensing the gleam in Yulong's eyes or reading his thoughts, Hao Peng said, "Also, this is purely for you. Don't share my cooking arts with anyone else!"

"Right," Yulong said, coughing as he left.

At the end of the day, Yulong managed to cook to the most basic level of what was required of him.

"Here is your daily pay. Don't worry, you'll get your 300 spirit stones at the end of the week." Hao Peng stopped Yulong before he left, giving him 1,000 Ying in a pouch before leaving him.

Yulong mentally thanked him as he finally left the restaurant, sighing.

<You completed your quest 'Apply for a job at Heaven's Table!'>

<You acquired 10x spirit stones!>

<You acquired the skill «Qi Manifestation»!>

'Did I finally complete that damned quest? Very odd...'

With that, Yulong logged off.

...

After going through the initial teleportation sequence, Yulong woke up in his room. He groaned, feeling groggy as he hadn't moved for hours, and placed his headset on his desk before slipping out of his bed for a sip of water.

Then he turned on his computer to look at the forums. He skipped the titles that were uninteresting, such as ones about him or Emperor. An interesting title then caught his eye.

[Streaming has been added into the game with no word from the developers of why!]

After skimming through the post, it was basically about how the devs added a way to stream your experiences from the game onto GameHub, allowing people to watch how others play the game.

And that was not just it. Some people were even posting episodes of their life in a sect or being a lone cultivator onto the show section of the GameHub, turning the game into some sort of drama.

Yulong raised an eyebrow at this. 'Streaming had not come until a few years after the game had been running originally...' However, something snapped Yulong out of his musing.

[Tales of The Fallen Forge Sect]

"Wow... It seems like Qianfan is an interesting character..." Yulong said as he looked at episode one.

It started with the sun rising. The Fallen Forge Sect sat on a mountain, with other peaks scattered around it.

The camera then overlooked the Outer Court members and where they reside lower on the mountain, showing a plateau of people in green robes jumping around carrying boxes, and sacks, going to the library, and more.

Yulong even spotted Qianfan running up the mountain, heavy sacks of flour on his back. It then moved to the Inner Court, where disciples with red robes were taking tasks at the assignment hall, sparring, reading, forging, and more.

Then they panned over the Elders, the Sect Master, the gates of the sect, and glimpses into the Core Disciples and Direct Disciples' homes.

Most of the episode was just looking at life in the sect with few mentions of the outer sect members, including Qianfan.

"Interesting..." Yulong muttered, thinking about what this could mean. If one could make money by streaming and not just selling items, then there was an easier way to make money and Qianfan could quit his job.

Although Yulong had a job in this timeline, he wasn't going to his job and already hadn't for a few days, completely forgetting about it.

A smirk started to form on his face. But before Yulong could do anything, he looked at more streams. Most were mundane cultivating or working, but some interesting ones had appealing fights to them.

The combat was so fluid, it looked like watching a movie. Nevertheless, there were no streams that caught Yulong's attention. Shutting down his computer, he leaned back in his chair, pondering.

After gulping down the remainder of his water, he set his cup down and stretched before entering the lotus position.

Clearing his mind of distractions, he began to cultivate.
