Chapter 41: Griffon's Bow

Vetto was like a wild animal running amok, charging forward without any hesitation or fear. His eyes were wide with rage as he barreled towards Rowan with a ferocity that could only be described as mad.

His legs pumped to the rhythm of his racing heart, propelling him ever closer to his target. Rowan stood his ground despite being intimidated by Vetto's frenzied approach.

He remained resolute in the face of this onslaught. In an instant, Vetto was upon him, and the two were locked in a fierce struggle.

Rowan managed to stay on his feet, but it was clear who held the advantage in this fight. Vetto had the strength of a raging bull and the ferocity of a mad dog.

"That's it?" Rowan said incredulously as he felt the power of Vetto's grip.

"He-he... I'm barely warmed up!" Vetto laughed, his voice full of arrogance and confidence.

Rowan, on the other hand, looked determined. "Let's see how long you can keep that wild face of yours," Rowan said confidently, as the moonblade in his hands glowed with blue light. Ancient runes appeared on the blade, and Rowan could feel a powerful energy radiating from it— "[The soul of lunar night]."

*Boom*

A loud *Boom* echoed through the air, and a silver armored figure appeared on the battlefield, surprising everyone except Yami, who had already seen it. The figure stood tall and imposing, its eyes glimmering in a golden aura, as if it was a being of pure divine power.

"What is this?" The high priest was surprised by the sudden appearance of this silver figure, and he gasped in awe. Its presence alone was overwhelming and awe-inspiring.

"Here I come!! [Aura Burst]"

*BOOM*

*BOOM*

"SWASSH*

With a loud crash, Rowan and Vetto collided in a flurry of blows. The moonblade's aura burst forth in a brilliant display of power, its purplish-black light enveloping the battlefield. Rowan and Vetto traded blows with immense ferocity, clashing with a deafening sound.

The clash between the two was like a raging tempest, and the force of their blows sent shockwaves through the air.

Rowan felt a sharp pain as blood came out of the corner of his mouth, but he also succeeded in giving Vetto a deep slash on his chest.

"You think that your armor can protect you?" Vetto spat, his face contorting in rage.

"You're actually right, I don't feel a thing under here," Rowan said as he blocked Vetto's aggressive strikes with the moonblade.

Vetto snarled and growled as his injured chest began to heal itself, and his wounds slowly vanished.

"Tch* I really hate annoying people like you!" Rowan spat.

"You think you can win? You're wrong! Now witness the power of despair!" Vetto's mana flared up once more, and a powerful wave of energy burst forth from his body.

With a loud battle roar, Vetto charged at Rowan again, this time even faster than before.

Rowan tried to defend himself by attacking back, but Vetto's power was too strong and relentless. The force of Vetto's blows sent Rowan flying back, and he felt his body weaken with each hit.

Vetto, seeing the opening, managed to hit Rowan's sword out of his hands. Taking advantage of the opportunity, he blasted a powerful wave of energy at Rowan, sending him flying into a nearby wall.

"Looks like the first time we met was just a fluke—you're nothing more than a trash!"

Rowan slowly stood up from the wall, his armor bruised and battered from the onslaught of Vetto's attacks. He coughed, feeling a trickle of blood run down his face, hidden beneath his armor.

"I.. felt that one.. " Rowan extended his hand towards the moonblade, and it flew back to his hand with a loud clang.

Rowan thought carefully, weighing the pros and cons of using spirit magic. The power of the spirit magic was great, and it could severely injure or even kill him.

But the spirit magic could drain half of his mana in one go, and it didn't even ensure that Vetto couldn't dodge the attack.

"After I beat you right now, I kill all your so-called friends right in front of you!"

"Is that so?" Rowan said, a smirk forming on his face. "Let's see if you can do that. I'm not going down so easily." With a burst of energy, Rowan lunged forward and clashed with Vetto, his sword clashing against Vetto's with a loud ringing sound.

Vetto let out a loud roar as he swung his powerful claws at Rowan. But Rowan was quick. He leaned backward and dodged the attack just in time. Seeing his chance, Rowan retaliated with a fierce slash of his sword, the blue flames of which illuminated the area. Vetto let out a howl of pain as the flames singed his fur. Despite this, he was still determined to fight, ready to take on whatever Rowan could throw at him.

And as Rowan just finished sending his attack, Vetto lifted his leg and kicked him in the chest, sending him flying backward. He landed with a thud and lay there, stunned by the force of the blow.

Rowan grunted in pain as he quickly jumped out of the way, narrowly avoiding Vetto's downward attack.

"Just look at you already in sorry state," Vetto crashed down his foot to where Rowan's head was, "I hoped you would have more fight in you, but this does bring a smile to my face."

Turning to look at Rowan, Vetto's figure disappeared and reappeared on the side of Rowan.

Rowan felt the wind being knocked out of him as he was hit with the punch. He looked up at Vetto with a pained expression, barely able to keep his eyes open as Vetto's menacing figure loomed above him.

"I'll give everyone a small taste of what's to come," Vetto said as he delivered his punch. "Let this be a warning to all who dare challenge me."

Rowan felt the full force of the blow, and his armor cracked and shattered into pieces as he was sent flying backward. He lay there, winded and in pain, the pieces of his armor scattered around him and his sword a few feet away, its blue flames now extinguished.

"R-ROWAN!" Noelle screamed in horror as she watched the scene unfold before her.

"NOW YOU DIE!" Vetto shouted as he charged forward, ready to deliver the final blow.

With a surge of energy, Rowan summoned mana to his body, strengthening him in an instant. He pushed himself off the ground and rolled out of the way just as Vetto was about to strike.

Gathering mana from the surrounding area, Rowan unleashed the spell. White ice crystals filled the air and quickly formed into an enormous bow with a single arrow. Pointing the arrow directly at Vetto, Rowan shouted, "[Ice Creation Magic: Griffon's Bow]"

"Hehe... that won't work on me..." But before Vetto could react, a bright light filled the area and a powerful blast of energy shot forward, hitting Vetto in the chest with enough force to knock him back. Noelle watched in awe as the arrow exploded into a million shards of ice that glimmered in the light.

He quickly leapt up and unsheathed his sword. The blue flames of the blade burning brightly. With lightning-fast speed, he charged forward and slashed at Vetto with a powerful swing, aiming at his chest. Vetto managed to block the attack, but Rowan was relentless and kept pressing forward, raining down a flurry of powerful blows that left Vetto reeling. With one final strike, Vetto was sent flying backwards, the force of the impact causing the ground to shake and a cloud of dust to rise up into the air.
