Chapter 92: She Who Loves her Grandma

"Ate!!!" 

Emilia said in a giddy voice once Duncan and Mike were out of the room. My grandma was grinning like a loon and my sister had hearts in her eyes. Me? I was dying with mortification. 

Duncan noticed that I was feeling uncomfortable with what he had done. He and Mike went to get something to eat. I haven't had coffee since we landed, I guess he must have remembered it.

"Because she is my heart." She did her best to imitate his brogue, it was followed by a squeal of happiness. "My heart, ate. My heart ~" now she was saying those words in a sing-song voice. 

"How long have you known him, Julie?" Grandma Ai asked. I could hear the warmth in her voice, it was natural for her to be curious. The man had just declared I was his heart.

I could feel a blush creeping up to me again. Gah! Why does he have to be such a sweet man? Wait, he was not a man. And so was I for that matter.
