Chapter 105: VIDEO
Jessie had wondered why the entire house is so silent. Normally, the girls she employed to always keep Linda company and see to her wants and needs would have always run out to welcome her, but the story and situation is different. Only the gate keeper, welcomed her.
Gently, she walks in her beautiful mansion and is surprised to see the girls so carried away watching something on their mobile phones.They were talking silently as they watched the video. Jessie clears her throat to get their attention.
"Welcome ma'am." Both of them chorused with fear and quickly hides their phones behind them.
"What are you watching that got you so carried away?" Jessie asks.
"Nothing ma'am." One the girls whispers still in fear.
Their guilty acts sold them off, something is definitely wrong with what they were watching. "I will ask you one more time, and I will appreciate if you tell me nothing but the truth." Jessie whispers and moves closer to one of them. "Emily, what were you watching on your phone earlier?"
"Nothing ma." Emily replies with fears written all over face, her body expressions displays fears too.
Jessie smiles and looks at the other girl. "Maria, will you tell me what you were watching earlier?" She asks again.
"Nothing ma." Maria replies with fear too.
"I am being nice now, tell me before I change my mind." Jessie whispers sternly.
"Please believe us ma, we weren't watching anything." Maria pleads almost crying.
"You weren't watching anything? Then why are you so afraid? Why are you both shaking?" Jessie asks. "Let me have your phones, now!"
The girls had no choice than to hand over the phones to their boss, she seems to be annoyed at the moment anyways.
Jessie looks at the video on one of the phones nd can't believe her eyes with what she is seeing. A video of her beloved and precious daughter who she had claimed to do all for, drunk in a club and already misbehaving with a man. "What is this?" She asks no one in particular.
"That was what we were watching ma'am." Emily replies with fear.
"You idiot!" Jessie says loudly and gives Emily a hot slap. "You are very stupid, I employed you to always watch over her, how could you allow this happen? You were even watching the video and having fun about it amongst yourselves?"
"We are so sorry ma." Emily weeps.
"Maria!" Jessie calls loudly.
"Yes ma'am." Maria answers with fear already sobbing. "I think you were smarter, how could you allow something like this to happen? How could you?!"
"We are sorry ma'am. Please forgive us."
"Didn't I warn you not to allow her go to the club? Didn't I?" Jessie asks in rage.
"She snuck out ma'am, we never knew when she did that." Emily tries to justify.
"You both have no excuses. On your kneels!" Jessie orders.
The girls go on their kneels hurriedly, they are trying their hardest to pacify Jessie. Once she is annoyed, she can do and undo.
"Where is Linda?" She asks quietly.
"In her room upstairs." Maria says pointing upstairs.
Jessie walks briskly upstairs with the girls phones in her hands. As she climbs the stairs, she could perceive the strong smell of alcohol and smoke. Obviously, Linda is smoking and drinking again, after she had been warned several times not to do such again. Another thing that made Jessie want to slap her was the loud music. She badged into her room and turns off the music.
Linda who was dancing with a stick of cigarettes and a bottle of alcohol in her hand stops dancing and looks at her mom. "Tch." She clicks her tongue in sight of her mom then sits on her bed. "Welcome." She greets not looking at her mom and gulping down her alcohol and puffing her cigarettes.
"What are you doing Linda?" Jessie asks almost crying.
"Well, as you can see, I was having a lot of fun before you came in. You ruined my gun." She replies still puffing her cigarettes.
"Until when do you plan on disgracing me this much?" Jessie asks again.
"Come on man! What did I do this time again?" Linda asks.
Jessie shows her the video she had just watched. "Can you explain what this is?"
A closer look at the video and Linda just smiles. "This is an old video."
"Old or no old! People will always hold on to it! They will always use it against us now and everywhere."
"Like I care." Linda replies bluntly and takes off the jacket she is wearing, showing off her muscles and the multiple tats on her body.
"Did you get another tat?" Jessie asks as she observes her body with her eyes.
"No I didn't." Linda replies. "Please can I turn back my music on? You are ruining my fun and I don't like it." She nags.
"Stop going to the gym." Jessie whispers.
"You can't tell me what to do woman." Linda retorts.
"I am sure you are aware that this woman you are referring to is your mother!" Jessie says loudly.
"Stop worrying about me please." She says in a very pleading tone.
"So who and what should I worry about?"
"You can worry about the hospital you stole, your husband who is deliberately over working himself to avoid contact with you or your pitiful self." Linda says and ends the note a smile.
"I am doing these for you!" Jessie whispers.
"Really?" Jessie stands facing her mom directly. "You killed for me, or to soothe yourself?" She asks quietly. "Even after 10 years, you are still looking for Ella, so you can kill her."
"Oh please, let's leave Ella out of this right now, I am sick and tired of you always bringing her in our conversations." Jessie says as she walks out of the room already. She had barely taken three steps away from the room when she hears that the song playing again.
