Chapter 53

Since he'd sneaked up on his fiancee, Chen tried to get his way through by bargaining and flirting.

Korra, who didn't seem to handle that, interrupted.

"Now that we closed the portal and Vaatu is sealed. What should we do, with my uncle appearing to be the evilest person ever." Korra said.

Chen was about to tell her to do whatever hell she wanted to do since he no longer cared about this.

But he remembered an interesting detail.

In canon, although Unalaq appeared to be wrong, he'd affected Korra's judgement -- she ended up thinking that he might be right.

It resulted in keeping the spiritual gates open, linking the spirit world with the material world.

You know what this caused.

Gigantic forests and veins growing in the city. People started suffering, and many luxuries were no longer enjoyable.

So that's decided.

He would convince Korra to keep the two worlds separate.

"As the Avatar, you should keep the balance between the worlds and let the gates open."

Chen said.

Now Korra would think that he's trying to manipulate her.

"That no longer will work on me." She scoffed. "I'm smarter than that. You two love birds, get your asses out. I'm going to close the other portal from outside."

Bingo.

She still has a long way to mature.

Asami leaned on Chen, her face getting closer to his. "Someone sounds jealous."

"I think we should move before she changes her mind," Chen whispered.

"So, how about my uncle…" Korra lowered her head and clicked her tongue. "The North won't be happy, nor they will believe that he was evil. I may not convince them at all."

Damn. She was getting smarter.

"If I may suggest, let's make him a dead hero," Chen said. "I would say that he fought right beside you against the Evil Spirit Vaatu. His last words were to close the portal and leave to the north."

"Huh? You think that will work?" Korra asked

"They'll believe you, you're the Avatar."

"No, I'm Korra."

"You do you." Chen shrugged as he stood up. He turned to Asami and help her stand.

"Hey?" Korra called, but Chen ignored her.

He'd enough. He wanted to go to bed, sleep for seven weeks, and then think of what to do with his life.

This shitty drama, ploys, had played a mental toll on him.

The worse thing had been his experience in the Fog of the Lost Souls.

Not giving another word, he walked to the portal, teleporting to the other world. Asami soon followed after him.

Chen was still trying to get used to the feeling of teleporting.

"What was that?" said Asami as soon as she appeared.

"What?" Chen asked.

"You just ignored her?" she pointed to Korra.

"I told her to do what she thinks best."

"Yeah. But it sounded more like you were telling her that you won't bother with her."

Chen sighed and relaxed his arms. "To be honest with you. I'm super tired. While you two have been fooled to think I was sealed, I was dealing with some things. Now I need a vacation — which is technically what we were doing."

"Don't worry." Asami opened her arms and hugged him.

Chen put his hand on his back. A warm feeling came from his heart, spreading to his whole body. Somehow, he'd a change. He realised what that feeling was, and he no longer bothered suppressing him. Not facing your feelings was fear to him.

"I love you," Chen said, meaning it. He'd been denying his feelings for so long, saying he loves his sugar mama.

But that was just an excuse to avoid his feelings.

After all, he, in his storage, has hundreds of millions of Yuan -- when he'd attacked the Agni Kai gang.

Basically, he could wash the money with a small project and live rich and all.

But he realised that he subconsciously had used money as an excuse to get into a serious relationship.

"Me too," Asami replied.

They then stopped hugging.

Korra soon appeared from the portal. Her morals seemed low.

Well, she'd taken a long time to arrive here. It seemed that she'd taken some time to think in the spirit world while being alone.

Without looking behind her, she placed her hand on the portal, closing it in one go. She made eye contact with Chen, who didn't bother saying anything.

There was silence for some time.

"What?" Chen asked.

"I think I owe you an apology."

"Don't mind it, my nose isn't harmed," Chen remembered how strongly she'd pinched his nose. But that was nothing.

"No. Not for that." She shook her head, chuckling. "You were trying to help me realise that I was played… but I ventured my anger on you and put the blame on you. I should've considered how right you were. But my ego blinded my eyes. It ended up as you said. My uncle invaded my nation in the name of unity. He calmed me by talking about the balance

Chen sighed. "Don't worry, I didn't take you seriously."

He'd always thought of her as a naive girl.

But Iroh had helped him open his eyes.

She'd been raised in a closed environment, her mind filled with propaganda.

The only way for her to go somewhere was to ask permission.

She was like a trained puppy.

And she'd only got attention by her identity as the Avatar.

She'd lived by two things — permission and identity, which was the most important things to her. It's the wrong of whoever raised her. People should form themselves, not form.

"Huh?"

"You're just a teenager." He said. "As long as you've learned your lesson, so be it."

He smiled.

Seeming embarrassed, she blushed and said. "Hey? It's not easy to play me anymore."

"Is it?"

"Yeah, try me."

"There is a hole behind you in the portal," Chen said. "If you don't shake your ass, the balance would break."

Korra raised her eyebrow. Chen acted as if he was serious.

He then flinched.

Korra seemed to buy his act.

Korra almost shook her ass.

"It's okay, no one change that fast. You need some nights of sleep." Chen assured Korra.

Realising that she had been tricked, Korra blushed hard through her tan skin.

"Hahaha!" Asami laughed. "He got you. Don't feel bad, he gets me sometimes." Asami rubbed an ear. "But the way he made your butt flinch… priceless." She no longer laughed, opening her jaw a bit.

Sighing and shaking the embarrassment away, Korra asked Chen. "So, we're good?"

"Yep," Chen said. He extended his hand at her, and he called. "Come here."

She walked, and Asami gave him a look.

Chen flicked his finger on Korra's forehead, and he said, "Now, you do you, I do me,"

Korra blushed a bit. Before she could say something, Asami spoke.

"No, I do you." Asami interrupted.

"We do us," Chen looked at her. They smiled.

Korra clenched her fists. Asami and Chen noticed that as they turned to her.

Someone looked jealous, he knew given how she was looking at the two of them. Chen activated his thermal vision to confirm that. He was indeed right, Korra was aroused by the situation. But at the same time, she was feeling comfortable. From her body language, she didn't seem to like standing on the side.

At that moment, Chen hoped Korra wouldn't fuck up the situation.

But again, he and Korra had nothing going between them — other than a few sexual tension raising from time to another.

Hold on, why she's looking at him with jealousy?

"Korra? Is there something you want to admit?" Asami said. She'd always had a good intuition and was good at reading body language. Asami didn't turn to Chen, meaning that she didn't blame him.

"Fine. I like you two guys."

"Well, I'm your friend, so I like you?" Asami replied.

The shorter girl took a step forward, and wrapped her hand around Chen and Asami, before turning her face to Chen.

Her lips fell on his, and Chen opened his eyes widely as he stared at Korra.

Her sweet tongue moved inside of his mouth, giving him an erotic feeling that aroused every ounce of his body, chilling his skin.

Asami turned to Korra, eyes opened widely. She was about to raise her fist. But Korra quickly took her face back and did what seemed a headbutt. But it wasn't a head butt. Her lips landed on Asami's.

Asami paused, lowering her eyes slowly as Chen had done. A flush took over her cheek.

Chen started breathing heavily as that kiss had taken his breath.

He had to blink a few times.

Did Korra just, kiss him and Asami?

Hold on?

When he'd teased her for being bisexual when she wasn't, did he trigger something inside her?

Hold on! Mako should be the one to change girls into lesbians -- he's that bad at dating.

"Fuck!" he cursed.

Korra took her lips back.

"The hell!" Asami blinked twice, looking shocked while trying to process this.

Chen was trying. But since he'd a better emotional control, he could ignore the shock and look at Korra.

He knew better than to act as if he was shocked too.

"What was that?" Chen asked.

Korra put her hands behind her, and she said.

"I'm sorry. This is the way I feel about you two. I know that you two are meant for each other. I didn't want to ruin it. But that's how I feel about you two. I love you."

Before they could process what she said, Korra looked embarrassed enough to turn and run away.

Asami and Chen, breathing heavily, turned to each other.

For a whole moment, they were silent.

"And here I befriended her since I suspected she had a thing for you," Asami said. "But it appears she'd something for us."

"Yeah…" Chen answered, not knowing what to say.

"Did you feel that too…" Asami asked, her voice shaky and her face red. "I mean, I've doubted something when I saw how she reacted between us…"

"Listen." Chen raised his hand. "Let's talk later. I'm tired, you know, spirits, hell-like place, the crazy dragon had been inside of me… and I got kissed with my girlfriend, and you are blushing…"

"I'll try to understand, it's too much." Asami took a deep breath, holding Chen's hand.

Chen started wondering. Would the five stages of shock work here — Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance?

He knew that Asami had been a BI, from the series, since she and Korra were a canon thing.

Something may happen. He may end up having two girlfriends…

But… Chen looked up and tightened his gaze. The universe better not fucked up this.

"Let's go,"

"Wanna rest?" Asami changed the topic. "You've been absent for a quite long time."

Chen appreciated that. "Was it that long?" he asked.
