A Contract
POV: Aesir
" You shall be allowed to use my power in return you will be the medium that will help me exist in this realm." Vetra offered, speaking vaguely about the contract.
" What does being a medium mean?" I asked after we stopped arguing about the past and me being a descendant of a person who had the same name as me.
His voice was cranky but despite that Vetra was willing to form a contract. I don't know what type of contract it is, I have read about many beings but this is my first time hearing about spirits. I don't know more than what they had told me, so the idea of signing a contract feels risky.
" Why do you want to form a contract with me?" I asked. " Is it because you think I am the descendant of that Aesir, you can be wrong about it?"
" Because only he was able to form a contract with a primordial spirit. I can also feel the same energy within you, there is not any other option other than choosing you." Vetra answered.
" What do I get? What if I am at a disadvantage in this? I don't know much about you"
" No, why do you even think you are at a disadvantage?" Vetra snapped.
" Because–" I wanted to argue, as per what my grandpa said, It costs something important to get power in life.
" How does it work? I want to know everything about this contract, and how much it affects me, what is the cost for gaining your power." I asked because there was no way that something that once oppressed every race will become mine without any major cost.
" I use mana or life energy to exist, there is so much life energy within you that you could even outlive a dragon." He said. " I can feel that your mana heart is broken and you can not grow past the 3rd stage but we don't need that since you are his descendant."
I didn't understand what did he mean by saying that I would even outlive a dragon, but what I understood is that he will survive in exchange for my life. It was not a bad deal, I need the power and I could later figure things out.
" I am ready to make a contract."
[ Do you want to form a contract with Vetra?] Suddenly Pandora showed me this.
" Yes," I replied and suddenly the white space began to glow and the bracelet started to react. Several runes floated in the air as large as my size, soon they started to shrink and surfaced around the bracelet.
" What is this? Pandora is doing something weird, we don't form a contract like this." Vetra shouted but it was too late as the runes already were engraved on the bracelet.
[ An eternal contract between primordial spirit Vetra and you has been formed.]
" What does eternal contract mean?" I asked out of curiosity. It was not a type of contract that both of us are trying to make.
[ It's a type of contract that can never be broken.]
" What?" Vetra shouted. " Do you take me for a slave? I just wanted the contract to test this guy, whether he is suitable to inherit this or not.
" It looks like you are stuck with me forever." I chuckled.
" Damn you, Pandora!"
A few more minutes passed before Vetra finally calmed down. Now I was curious about Pandora because it was also a spirit or something like a spirit. If I remember correctly last I also had a contract with him that I never agreed to and didn't know what was the contract, I needed to know.
[ My Contract with you can not be broken and I assure you that it's not going to harm you in any way.]
" What's he talking about now?" Vetra said.
" He can read my thoughts," I said after I got this reply.
" I can also do that if you allow me to enter your mind."
[ Vetra is trying to form a mind link, do you accept?]
' I accept.' I thought.
' Can you hear me in your mind now?' I heard his voice. It wasn't that different compared to how he talked before.
[ Mind Link has been turned off.]
" Explain to me Pandora, what are the things that you can do?" Pandora was trying to stay as secretive as it can be and I can't just accept this.
[ I can do various things, should I tell you one by one?] It answered.
" Yes."
[ First, I can strengthen your body, You have something inside of you that you are not using at full potential. I can control that hidden power within you and help you gain the most out of it.]
" What's hidden inside of me?"
[ Elixir of Life.]
" What's that?" I asked, there seem to be many things that I didn't know about myself before today. It was overwhelming me with several thoughts about who I am.
[ It's nature energy condensed into liquid form with several other rare ingredients mixed in it. You drank this elixir that is why you have regeneration abilities.]
" You knew about my regeneration ability." I was surprised because it was a secret that I didn't even tell Calen, at this point I should believe that Pandora already knows everything about me.
[ Second thing I can give you is my vision, I know ancient magic and history that not even the brightest minds of the present know about.]
It was useful, I can't believe I had access to whatever knowledge I wanted from the past.
I remembered what Pandora said to me, that the contract is not harmful to me at all. He also tricked Vetra into an eternal contract which lessens the risk of me forming a contract with him. For me, Pandora has proven to be very useful but what he told me next surprised me the most.
[ I can do what you and most who cared about you had tried to do for you, I can restore your broken mana core.]
