Chapter 38: | No Witnesses

Amon physically threw Jack out onto the street. 'I'm not getting mixed up in this,' he yelled. 'You got yourself into it, get yourself out of it!' He gave Jack a covert wink and then shooed him away. 'Now, move it!'

Knowing this was the plan, Jack took off, running down the leafy avenue in his oversized shoes. He'd memorized the map and as soon as he could hear the clang and rumble of an approaching streetcar, made sure to look about carefully before boarding. As he sat down on the hard mahogany seat, he felt relieved that no one was paying him any attention.
