Nelson was someone the family hired because of his prolific background dealing with animals. He wasn't highly educated or was big on business, he was a farm boy that just loved doing what he did because of it he wasn't keep with following social etiquettes.

But getting hired by the Rothschild meant that he had to do some tweaking with his personality if he wanted to keep getting paid enormous amount of money and keep interacting with best horse breed on the planet.

Just him entering the estate was enough of a shock when he first came for the interview. Coupled with all the amenities provided for the position even his family urged him to be respectful.
