Chapter 50: Showing gratitude

"Yes, My Lord." Daisuke replied in understanding despite not knowing the reason his entire Castle had to be renovated.

But he knew better than to question him, given his current mood.

Naoki let out a deep breath as his gaze shifted into the distance. "If there is another unprecedented move from Yoshimune, there might be a bloodbath."

This was him giving Daisuke a fore-warning, telling him that he would not be able to stop him from going to war if the situation of today or similar, should occur again.

He was not going to promise him anything.

On the other hand, Daisuke felt his heart freeze in his chest.

If there were to be a next time, would he be able to stop his Master?

He could already feel the mark of failure on his forehead. He would hate for that day to come even though he understood his Master's plight.

"I must wed Haruka at once." Naoki added in summary with a determined tone.
