Cas drifted out from sleep and into waking. The dark rock ceiling greeted his bleary vision. To make it clear, he rolled onto his side and draped his arm over Mingan’s torso. She didn’t even stir. He smiled in affectionate exasperation; she was thoroughly passed out.

Drinking a decent amount of alcohol followed by great drunk sex would do that.

Cas stroked Mingan’s hair off her forehead, trailing his knuckles down her cheek. Even in the dim lighting, sleeping, he was in awe of her.

She needed recovery rest. After kissing her temple and untangling their legs, Cas climbed out of bed, dressed, made sure he looked semi-presentable, and headed to the eating hall. It was already decently busy, a crowd at the back table waiting to be served fresh meat.

Swiping a cup of water off another table offering an army of them, Cas caught sight of the young male who Shani had been talking to last night.
