Shani hurried to wriggle through the small tunnel exit in front of Alban—Casimir Olwen, rather. The former Whitecrown Alpha, the Leader Who Left.

This whole time… She’d been traveling with one of two immortal wolves. And her stupid hunch—she’d been right. Well, almost. But still.

It was no wonder why Danior acted the way he did. For all his bravado, he’d been scared of Casimir. And he would never admit it, but he probably felt guilty for telling fireside stories about him.

Now that she was with the one and only… Could she ask which stories were true?

“When we find alcohol,” Casimir growled, stalking faster than Shani’s much smaller stride could keep up with, “we are taking a swig for every insult he spat.”

“We’d die,” Mingan noted, easily keeping pace with her elegant long legs.

“I don’t drink,” Shani admitted.

Mingan sighed. “Sweet pup. Do you know a place?”

“Yes, and we might run into an old friend.”
