Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Wedding Ceremony

“Hey, Brend. Have you seen Mila?” Josiah asked.

The beautifully tailored suit brought out the best of his toned physique. His honey-hazel eyes were worried.

He knew how hard the wedding news was affecting Mila, and he didn’t want her to feel alone.

“I saw her about an hour ago. She was running final errands for the future Luna,” Brend said as he pulled at the neck of his formal shirt.

Josiah patted Brend’s shoulder as he walked back towards the event space. He sniffed the air. She hadn’t been around the event venue since he’d seen her welcome guests.

A niggling worry began to gnaw at his mind.

Keeping calm, Josiah looked for Mila in widening circles around the event venue. Each time he caught a stronger trace of her scent.

The further out he went, the more he realized she hadn’t been to the wedding venue since he had last seen her welcoming guests and getting them to the breakfast buffet.
