Chapter 24: Re-emergence of The Darkness 1

Zed and Alex sighed. A wave of disappointment hitting them after a surge in their adrenaline. Then Alex said, " I know that you want to look for that person more than we do sister Rain and that it is indeed a good plan for you to work there and look for him. But we cannot allow you to do it, sister. That place is not suitable for you."

"Alex's right. I am almost done with the work here and all the things are in place. I can head there and continue the search while expanding both of our businesses. You just go back and enjoy the peaceful life that you yearned and earned sister Rain. You…"

Zed was about to continue when Rain cut him off "Enough you two. Don't rush things over there to come here. A small mistake can ruin all our hard work of the years as well as our life. I know that you both are trying to protect me as you always do but I cannot always use you two as my shield. You both are young and have your own life too. I can accept your assistance, but I will never put all of the burden on you. It is our quest and let us achieve it together." Rain declared leaving no space for rebuttal.

Zed and Alex were tongue tied. They knew this sister of theirs like a worm in her stomach. And when she was determined to do something there was no way that they could refute. Although they had started nagging and scolding her about her habits, at the end of the day she was still their elder sister whose orders they could never deny. Out of respect and fear, both.

The brothers looked at each other through the screen and made a silent pact when their sister was not noting.

....

That night, the serenity of the city was disturbed by the buzzing sounds of the sirens as numerous police cars speeded through streets all headed to a particular direction. Reporters from various medias were all on a marathon, covering the site and chasing the officers involved to get more of the first-hand information on this breaking news.

Amidst all the chaos outside, an emperor like existence was seated on a leather sofa facing his assistant in a living room of the biggest mansion of the city. His aura alone was enough to subdue his enemies. To bring them to their knees. An indignant look on his face as he signalled his assistant to give him the report.

Jay had been working with his master for over a decade now but still couldn't help but to tremble slightly upon facing his kingly aura. He began "Sir, it's a gang called Monkey gang. Although not powerful enough, they did hold a certain reputation in the area. The gang had more than fifty members and had been growing and gaining power recently. According to our people the entire Monkey gang has been annihilated when they were having a party in a local bar. They owned the entire bar and was only open to them as they were having a party tonight. Even the servers working there were their people. No one knows who did this. But so far, thi… this does not seem to be a fight between the gangs, sir."

Elliot raised his brow, as this piqued his interest. Jay gulped as he continued "If this was a gang fight someone should have already divulge the news to show their power in the business, but no one has come forth till now. Everyone is apprehensive that a new force has emerged. There is no evidence which could point towards a suspect. It is just like a work of a ghost. We don't even know how many people were there on the other side. Here are the pictures from the scenes. Dr. Yang is currently busy there a consultant doctor. He said that it may take some time to deal with the case and that even he is incapable to point out a suspect this time."

Jay handed the photographs from the scene to his boss, shuddering once again at the gore sight. Despite dealing with this side of business of years, it was his first time seeing such a cruel sight. He silently offered two min of silence to the members of this Monkey gang for going through such tribulation.

Elliot glanced at the photograph handed by his assistant and his frowned deepened. He had to admit that it was the first time he had seen such barbarity. He smiled 'And here I thought life would get unsavory after agreeing to take over this business empire. Finally, I found something interesting after coming back to this nation.'

This smile sent the already shivering Jay's heart to a halt. 'I KNEW IT! This Hades would surely dig into this case and get involved. Can't he live a simple life like a normal person. And here I thought I would be getting a break from the darkness after coming here. Who said that monkey gang is pitiful? I am more miserable than that monkey gang, okay? bohooo' he sobbed without tears.
