It wasn't a name given to him for fancy purposes. It was what people started calling him after his actions, he was someone who was moving from the 1st floor to the current 19th floor he was in alone.

Though he got numerous offers from various guilds he rejected them all and continued to move forward alone.

Conversely, The one he was fighting, Eugene Viotto still seemed to be in his peak condition, as good as when he first entered the arena.
